So I recently found out that my all time favourite sci-fi, TH2Go friendly space sim X3 has a successor. Its got a non-playable demo that gives you a run through of a few events using the game's engine and its breath-takingly beautiful as always.

Here's some screens 3840x1024:

These last four give an sense of the awesome scale this game deals with, its pulling back from a pair of space suited people floating in an airlock of what I'm thinking is a Terran shipyard:

My only gripe so far appears to be its got this strange circle around the edges of the FOV on the left and right under many conditions, it seems fore-ground objects sit on top of it but the backdrops appear behind it. Anyone else played the full game yet (hosted by steam unfortunately only right now) and able to say whether that sticks or not?

Interesting... seems like the background image isn't rendered large enough. Can't help you though, since I'm only running it on a single widescreen. But since the full game will have a 360º background and maybe it was reduced for the demo, I expect it won't have the issue.
Just to be sure, you could of course ask on the Egosoft Tech Support forum.

I ended up buying it from steam ;) Yah the circle is not present in the full game which is a relief.
