I've been having trouble getting X-Plane 9 to run at 5040x1050 on my ThripleHead2Go set up. I can run other games like Devil May Cry and World of Warcrft at 5040x1050 just fine. I did have to change the refresh rate of DMC to 57hz before it worked and I wonder if the same is true with X-Plane 9. My Current set up is as follows: (3) 20" Dell E207WFP TripleHead2Go Digital edition NVIDIA Driver version 175.19 My SGU Profile: Code: ;KEYWORDS:

From what I understand the max bandwith of dual-link at 5040x1050 is 57 hz so if it tried to run at 60 I know it shouldn't work. |

Hello and welcome. X-Plane 9 natively supports surround gaming. I suggets you set it up directly in X-Plane's "Rendering Options". Don't forget to change the FOV as well. |

Thanks for the replys! (and the greetings! :P ) X-Plane 9's config is a little strange. It has a file for the resolution but I'm not 100% certin of which lines to changeadd. Enabling the vsync didn't change anything. Code: I
92001 version _x_res_req_PLN 0 _y_res_req_PLN 0 _x_res_req_WRL 0 _y_res_req_WRL 0 _x_res_req_ALL 5040 _y_res_req_ALL 1050 _col_res_req 32 _use_vsync1 0 _use_vsync2 0 _set_res 0 _lang 0 _alias_req 0 _keylist_up 1 _sec_mon_inuse 0 _prefs_found 1 The FOV can be set in another file but its much larger so I'll only post a portion of it. The rest contains custom keybind settings. Code: I

What djib said was you should choose the TripleHead options in the game ... or the games "Rendering Options" ... and so you should not have to mess with config files. |

Yeah, the first thing I tried was just setting the res in game. I wish it did work but it won't at my native res. My desktop res is 5040x1050. The highest setting I can get no matter how I set it is 3840x1024. However there is no Full screen mode so it runs in a window (@ 3840x768). So yes... it will work without modification for those who run 3840x768 or smaller. |

anyone gotten 5040x1050 to work on Vista? I can get it to work on XP, but not on Vista. On Vista, all I get is a full black screen. Eventually, I can hear sound but I never get video. |

I received a copy of Windows 7 RTM as part of a Microsoft training event. I've got it installed and can confirm that this is still a problem with Windows 7. Again, in XP it works fine, but in Windows Vista/7 the 5040x1050 resolution results in a black screen. |

What is it about 5040x1050 not working under vista? @svet-am you say you hear sound but no video? What do you mean with it while on desktop? What video, what sound? |

What is it about 5040x1050 not working under vista? What I see is that all three of the screens are completely black and I hear the normal X-Plane sounds. So, it seems to me that X-Plane is loading but is having trouble rendering the video -- but that the rest of the engine is running okay. Since I've gotten it to work on XP, I don't think that it's really an X-Plane "problem." As a part-time developer with some experience in the area, I'm thinking that it probably has to do with how Microsoft changed the handling of OpenGL in Vista and Windows 7 which is preventing X-Plane from rendering at that size. That said, the folks on the X-Plane team need to find some kind of workaround. Whether we like or not, Vista and Windows 7 are the future (on the MS side) and their simulator needs to be able run properly in that environment or folks won't use it. |
