Hello all im new here and would like to ask a few questions about TH2GO. I currently have a Samsung SyncMaster 213T 21 inch monitor and it is running in analog mode in native 1600x1200. I want to buy 2 more of these monitors and the matrox Triple head to go "Digital" version (is this possible to use digital, do i need to buy something to make it from analog to digital). I want to use this for these games: Lockon, Rfactor,GTR Evolution,Grind. Is this possible to do, can someone direct me to a link to buy the Matrox TH2GO and some tips on how to set it up. Thanks all for your support and help.

How would this setup look?

Not sure if I can help you, but will try :)

You want to buy more screens with analog input, and use the triplehead2go-digital for it? Then you want to use connecters to connect them on your computer? Yes it probably gonna work, but why spend a digital th2g if you can have the analog? Because you aren't using the digital output (if I understand your post correctly)

For the games, In the MGL (in the left navigation bar) you can find all the games, and also what kind of support they have for surround. If there are things you don't understand, you can try to find it in the Triplehead FAQ. Hopefull I could help you.

Thank you storm, the reason why i would like to use digital is becasue doesn't it have an effect that helps with the bezzels of the monitor, the object goes behind the bezel instead of jumping to the next monitor? is analog good to use or does digital have newer uses, hope you understand what i mean, i saw it in the videos for digital some new items.

Yes it is called bezel management, were items go behind instead of jump from screen to screen, does analog have this, or is there a way to switch easily to digital on my comp? thanks

There is no reason why you can't run 3 analog monitors through a digital TH2Go, you'd just need 3 DVI-VGA adaptors for the unit itself. You still need dual link DVI to go from the PC GPU to the TH2Go. I don;t know what it would do for image quality, you'd have to ask Matrox for that.
Digital is the only version that does bezel management so if you want that you'd have to go digital. It is not such a big thing on FPS etc but I like using it for sims.

I got mine direct from Matrox http://www.matrox.com/graphics/en/buy/

As fr setting it up it is simple. Follow the instructions given when you get it and if you have any specific problems then come back here and ask. :)

rfactor is fine: http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/node/7310
lock isn't great, as you know: http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/node/8854
GTR evolution: I don't know but it looks like it works even with the GUI not ideal http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/node/9354
Grind: nope lost me there don't even think I've heard of it :P

Ok i am running in digital now so if you or someone could explain what i would need to do exactly. I need to buy 2 more monitors (same as above stated), Matrox TH2GO Digital version, ???? and what else.

You said something about the resolution? the resolution for my comp now is 1600x1200 and if i got 2 more monitors would i use 1280x1024 on each to work it out, thanks so much for the help with this i really appreciate it.

Well I'll post all the replies on this thread cos you don't need 2!

So your monitors are using DVI so all you have to do is buy the extra monitors & THGo digital, plug them in and set the desktop resolution to 3840x1024!

You will have to install the Matrox GXM program to run the bezel management. It also allows you to do things like have programs maximise in just one screen rather than across all three displays (at the moment I have my email up on my left screen, firefox in the centre and a PDF I am working on on the right, for example)
The Matrox SGU program will 'auto set up' certain games to use 3840x1024 and put a short cut on your desktop for the game. Check out the supported games here: http://www.matrox.com/graphics/surroundgaming/en/games/ So the SGU is quite good if you are not happy with mucking around in the program files to get it working (some games, like Crysis, will let you select 3840x1024 in the set up..others have need a various amount of tweaking/hacking to get working in TH)

As to resolution because your monitors are 'normal' aspect rather than wide screen the maximum resolution that will work is 3x1280x1024. This means 2 things:
1. The images will be slightly distorted as your screens are 4:3 aspect rather than 5:4 aspect (1280x1024). Paddy the Wak (Mod) had this and didn't really think it was much of a problem IIRC.
2. If your screens are LCDs then they will not be displaying at their 'native' resolution, which is not ideal. It means that images will look at bit fuzzy. I am doing that at the moment with my screens, I have 3 24" LCDs (which should be 1920x1200) but they are displaying (3x) 1680x1050. I don't have a problem with it, YMMV.
To see if 1280x1024 is going to annoy you just set your current desktop to 1280x1024 and see how it looks on the desktop and in games.
