Hello, I will receive my new computer on Wednesday, and I've already received my TH2G Digital and my three monitors. My new system has dual GTX 8800 Cars and a 1100W PS w/4GB ram. I bought three 22" HP monitors (HP w2207) due to the flexibility of the stands. http://www.shopping.hp.com/product/display/display/1/storefronts/RK282AA%2523ABA My thoughts are: How should I setup my system? 1) install single monitor and set to resolution by installing drivers for monitor... do this first. 2) then shutdown and install TH2G and additional monitors? After reading so many threads here I wasn't sure how to setup from new. I figured many of you guys would now know the do's and don'ts. I of course want to run in maximum resolution... I thought the TH2G was recently improved to support three monitors in 1650X1024 across all three, but it looks as though, from reading these post, that is not true. Thanks for any and all help you guys can offer me. I know the system was completed tested and burned-in from dealer. My gaming of choice is racing sims. Thanks Randall |

I of course want to run in maximum resolution... I thought the TH2G was recently improved to support three monitors in 1650X1024 across all three, but it looks as though, from reading these post, that is not true. Currently as far as I know, the DTH2G does not support widescreen monitors properly. You might be able to manage something, but from Ibrin's review (banner link at the top of the page,) he's mentioned it doesn't, so yeah bummer. Maybe they've updated it since then with a firmware update... maybe not, I guess you'll just have to hope, otherwise those monitors are going to be running in ugly 4:3 stretch for each monitor. |

Cynagen, thanks for your response, though some what discouraging... :) Howeverm, I found this new applet on the matrox website Matrox TripleHead2Go Mode Expander Tool The TripleHead2Go Mode Expander Tool (TMET)1 is a little software applet that enables support for extra resolutions (beyond the 4 native modes that come with the TripleHead2Go), such as triple widescreen support, dual resolution support and a higher refresh rate for CRT users. Matrox TMET gives you support for the following five modes: Resolution Refresh rate Notes 2560 x 1024 (dual 1280 x 1024) 60Hz Run TripleHead2Go in DualHead configuration 3360 x 1050 (dual 1680 x 1050) 60Hz Run TripleHead2Go in DualHead configuration 3072 x 768 (triple 1024 x 768) 85Hz For CRT support 3840 x 720 (triple 1280 x 720) 60Hz Widescreen mode 3840 x 768 (triple 1280 x 768) 60Hz Widescreen mode Edit: Ooops... it says only compatible witht he Anolog edition.... does this mean the support is already include witht he DTH2G??? |

You can at least use TH2G in DualHead mode with your native resolution. The problem is going to be with the action taking place in the middle of the two screens. Using TrackIR or tilting your virtual head with the mouse on one side might make this playable. You should also take a look at SoftTH, its compatibility list isn't as good as those of Matrox but it will allow you to use all three widescreens at native resolution. |

Nonnative resolutions should look OK as long as your games allow setting the aspect ratio independently from resolution (this is another common mistake in many 3D applications, they compute the aspect ratio from resolution which is correct only in those cases when the resolution has the same aspect ratio as the viewable screen). Otherwise, the image will appear stretched. |

The closest you will get to the native res is 1366x768. That is a documented limitation of DX9. DX9 can only support 4k pixels across the horizontal. The only possible future path for higher resolutions is with DX10 games that support the higher resolutions, and an updated TH2Go to support the larger resolutions. I would think that 1366x768 stretched across your screens would look good, as you can turn up the AA & AF with your horsepower. My review did touch on the quality of the scaling. |

Thanks.... at least I'm feeling better.... :? I realized that the native res will not run in triple mode, and I understand/and seen the review and examples with scaling the image.... plus the images seemed to scale very well. Thanks aggain for all you guys and the info you've provided on this site. Now, how about installation? Just install one monitor, then shutdown connect DTH2G and startup. Sounds like the best option.
