Will digital TH2G allow 3 x 1920 x 1200 (ie three 24" widescreen lcd mon) ? I dont recall offhand the peripheral vision of human eyes (how many degrees? 200 degrees?). So, if you use 3 x 1920 x 1200, would this view exceed 200 degrees and so give you supernatural peripheral vision in FPS games like FEAR? |

Will digital TH2G allow 3 x 1920 x 1200 (ie three 24" widescreen lcd mon) ? Can we (ie WSGF) sort this fact out so we all KNOW what optimal viewing angle would be for the human brain/eye/sensors.

I did some quick search in the web and it appears 180-200 degrees range is the limit. And I just confirm this range with a little experiment of my own. :-) And Matrox says the TH2G at 3 x 1280 x 1024 gives 135 degrees field of vision. So, can someone do the math and convert 3 x 1920 x 1200 to degrees of arc and see if this is below or above the field of vision of a pair of human eyes? |

There isn’t a game or a video driver that will allow you to display 3D graphics on such scale even if Matrox game us the capability. |

While this is exciting news, everybody can stop getting their hopes up for crazy high resolutions on a digital TH2Go. To further build on RUS007's statement, Matrox said on their old forum that no video card in existence supports 3D in resolutions higher than 4096 per side. Its a limitation of how GPU's are programmed, they simply cannot display any more pixels in 3D. Its similar to old limitations on texture sizes... remember when cards couldn't do textures bigger than 1024x1024 for example? Same thing... its hardwired in the silicon, only nvidia/ati can change it. 3840x1024 is the highest resolution we're going to see in triple-head. |
