Guy’s can some of you experts please help me decide the following:

Here is my interest…. Mostly racing games GTR2, rFactor, Race 07, GTL etc. Also some FPS such as COD and Half-Life,,,, maybe even a flight sim later after all is working good!

I'm about to get the TH2Go and three monitors... So I’m hoping to learn from you guys the best setup?

I mean... which three monitors? :?

I would like three 22" screens... Is the widescreen issue fixed?

I currently own a 24"dell…. is there two monitors I can use to flank this one ? I mean could I do like to 20’s on each side. Is this just not possible… ? :?:

Which monitors has the smallest bezel :?: :?:
Which work best together and offer vertical alignments :?: :?:

Other concerns:

Is the center screen problem corrected in solo use/single screen use :?: :?:

Can three widescreens be used w/o stretching :?: :?:

Any other useful info would be greatly appreciated… :!:
Thanks

I might as well post my response to his PM publically. :D

I'm wanting to buy a complete new setup...TH2Go and three monitors.... I have a 24" now. What do you think I can do to use the 24" and if not help me understand how you switch to the center monitor?

Your 24" monitor is widescreen or not? I assume that it is widescreen.

Personally I have three 22" widescreen monitors and the analog TripleHead2Go. I don't think the stretching is that bad. I'd think that getting a TH2Go and two more 24" widescreen monitors would be OK. Note, not everyone would agree with me! Sadly it is hard to tell if you are happy with this until you set it up!

To switch to the center monitor I turn off the analog output and use the digital output instead. My middle monitor has both an analog and a digital input, and my graphics card has both an analog and digital output. If I use the analog output of the graphics card, I am slightly stretched on three monitors. If I use the digital output, I have no stretching and only using the middle monitor.l

So if I'm not playing a full screen game, I usually have TripleHead2Go on, but I switch the input of the middle monitor from analog to digital and run it at 1680x1050.

How do you handle this? Is it by using the vga output from the video card and into the VGA of the center monitor? Meaning the other two monitors are off> If so this is fine by me as well.

That's what I'd be doing if I had a digital TH2Go. Since I have an analog TH2Go I use the vga output for triple mode and the digital output for single monitor mode.

Bonus: When I'm in single monitor mode I use one of the side monitors for TV, PS2, or Wii. http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=204224563

Best of luck!

I've had nothing but headache with my three 20.1" widescreens. Not only has the TH2Go been tough to get working with them, when it was working, I didn't find an improvement in game play, nor the image particularly enjoyable. And getting back down to a single monitor at 1680x1050 to play games that looked poor at ultra widescreen, proved to be a disaster for me personally.

There could likely be something I'm doing wrong, so if others say they enjoy their FoV's at triple widescreen, there is a chance you will too.

PM me if you're interested in buying my TH2Go digital on the cheap. It's only a couple of weeks young.

To answer your post directly. Yes, there was a firmware update to get single monitor display to be the center instead of left. (I never even got mine to go to single display at all).

Likely any three well priced Samsung or Viewsonic widescreens would work well for you. I haven't looked or heard about which has the best bevel though. Another trick you can do is to tuck the two side monitors in behind the bevel of the center, (as opposed to touching them each edge to edge). The depth change likely isn't significant.

I did read somewhere about someone running smaller left and right monitors than his center, and I believe he said he just got used to it. But I don't think he was playing FPS's. There are also some people on this forum running a 30" center with vertical 20"s on the side, but that only works with SoftTH from what I understand.

Is the widescreen issue fixed? I'm not sure which issue you mean. Does the Digital TH2Go 'support' three widescreen aspect ratios? Yes. Will it support native resolutions? No. Will you be able to tell you've lost millions of pixels? I could tell, yes. And Field of View for me when running at a such a long Horizontal resolution with almost no vertical, was disappointing to say the least.

Your racing games should probably work well, and you may not experience the issues I have with playing CS, DoD, Half-Life, BF2, WoW, C&C3, etc.
