I hope this partnership with AMD doesn't mean us NVidia-Surround users become casualties in some GPU turf wars.

Well it seems to work nicely enough FOV/Aspect-wise with 5760x1080 on my Nvidia surround set up, but the HUD is located on the outside monitor... kind of a bummer to have to turn my head so far to see my radar/energy readouts.

From the video I saw of the game running in eyefinity on youtube the HUD was centered, so it looks like it only supports triple wide properly for AMD users :(

Nope, we AMD users are screwed as well. I have an AMD based Eyefinity setup at 6008x1080 and the HUD isn't centered for me either. I will try with bezel compensation disabled at 5760x1080, I know some other games only centered the HUD on uncompensated resolutions.

Feh, same problem, no difference with bezel compensation on or off. Anyone find any system files lying around that can be poked with yet?

Sucks for Nvidia ;(

The game integrates with AMD specific APIs to access the primary monitor location, bezel sizes, etc.

The game will list EyeFinity enabled in the setup dialog specifically.

The UI as well as some other things get placed on the primary monitor, while up to 5 additional monitors are used for peripheral vision.

Since these features are implemented using AMD specific APIs these are not currently available on NVidia hardware.

Developer is saying we don't have Eyefinity properly setup.

http://forums.eidosgames.com/showthread.php?t=119689

I've tried re-creating my Eyefinity display group a few times now... still doesn't work. Also doesn't work without bezel compensation. On latest Catalyst 11.8 with 11.7 CAP3 application profiles.

Edit: Saw that 11.8 CAP2 was released. This has fixed the problem. HUD is now properly centered.

Must be nice that you guys can even get the game running. I'm using 580 SLI Surround and I'm getting constant crashes. The game can't run in multi-monitor for more than 5 seconds before crashing out. Seems to work on single screen though.

It's incredibly disappointing and I may just bin this game until someone decides to make it not broken.

I upgraded to 11.8 and CAP2 on my 2x 6950's and am not getting a centered HUD (radar way off to the left). I did recreate the eyefinity group in CCC and reset bezel compensation, crossfirex, etc. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

My Steam overlay is also really jacked in game -- it flickers really bad and I can't take screenshots successfully (get a black screen).

Game runs pretty well at 6048x1080, Medium FXAA, 8x Aniso, Soft Shadows, Post-Processing on, Tessellation on, Normal SSAO (this gave a significant boost), DOF High. Averaging in the 50's.

on 11.8 and CAP2 as well, no center HUD for me. Seriously, how hard is it to have an INI setting.... Pretty much every game that tries to use the AMD APIs fails at it somehow.

If anyone here got center HUD working please post instructions?

edit: also my desktop keeps blue screening if I alt tab deus ex or anything like that.. it's that or 11.8 drivers fault?

I posted how I got it working here: http://forums.eidosgames.com/showthread.php?p=1656629&posted=1#post1656629

Basically, all I did was install the new CAP profiles. If you want to ask me any questions or run any tests just let me know.

Edit: Poor tet5uo, I feel like we AMD users hijacked his Eidos thread. Sorry about that mate, that wasn't my intention.

Heh, it's okay, I don't think it was going to help much. It seems 100% intentional that they don't support Nvidia-Surround nor Nvidia 3d-Vision with this game so posting to let them know that it didn't work was kind of useless anyhow :)

Is there any way to edit the HUD via config or .dll hook?

Could be worse, at least it's not like The Witcher 2 where they actively block off the side monitors...

I had the HUD problems on Eyefinity aswell. It should say Eyefinity behind the resolution when running the Setup tool, which it didnt for me. This was on 11.8 preview, with 11.8 CAP2 installed.

The way I fixed it was this:

1: uninstalling my cap files, rebooted
2: Downloaded the newest 11.8 driver
3: Installed said driver
4: Installed the 11.8 CAP 2 profiles, rebooted

And voila, when running the Setup thingie from Steam now it actually shows Eyefinity behind the bigger resolutions.

Why this fixed it I really dont know, but I am really not impressed by ATIs drivers in the first place so not that surprised..

OH, and LOVING the game. Alltho, it is causing me to have some really, really long work days as I tend to only get couple of hours of sleep because I just have to do "one more missioN". >.<

O.K. greetings all friends, I have been able to identify the reason of low fps: DX11:

Here are 2 screens to compare DX9 vs DX11 standing in the same spot
As we can see DX9 = 126 fps DX11= 71 fps, so basically DX11 equals to 55 fps or 43% performance drop

That's to be expected, MW2.

Also, SSAO takes a good chunk of frames. Though it already appears to be off in those screenshots.

Are you expecting us to take this seriously? 60FPS at 5780x1080 (or whatever resolution you're probably running) is very good. It's not "shit". If you want shit FPS go try playing Metro 2033.

So go ahead and tell us your monitor Hz specs, I'll be surprised if it's more than 60Hz. In which case 60FPS is the max you'll see from your monitor anyway, the rest of the frames get dropped.

DX11 uses more advanced versions of the algorithms to make the game look prettier, so of course it'll run slower. If you can't notice the difference then just use DX9. Your screenshot looks like it already has a lot of the goodies disabled (AA off? SSAO off? DOF off?).

It's under my system specs it says the moniter runs in 120Hz

I did a little experimenting. The (eyefinity) label only shows up in the game setup menu when crossfirex is disabled. When I disable CF I do get a correctly centered HUD. When I re-enable CF the HUD pops back to the outside screens.

After you disabled CF, did you go back into the setup utility?

I uninstalled all of my CAPs, rebooted, installed 11.8 cap 2, rebooted, disabled CF, opened the Deus Ex setup and saw (Eyefinity) after my resolution. HUD was centered, but the performance was crap. I re-enabled CF and the performance is better, but the HUD is no longer centered. I'm just dealing with it and playing w/o a centered HUD. The game is great. I do wish it would load my cards a bit more in CF -- I get 60-80% loading and could use the FPS. Playing everything maxed, High FXAA at 6048x1080, averaging around 45fps.

The HUD centers for me just fine, I didn't have to do anything but set my resolution. Makes me think that some of you are trying with a pirated copy, which didn't; get updated.

Abram, that's ridiculous, a bunch of people have this HUD not centering issue (including myself, and you can see I own the game on steam), it must not be affecting anyone because it doesn't affect you?

Thats one hell of an assumption. Fact is I purchased my game for $78 Aus dollars from EB games......game is updated via steam and no centered hud!!!!

Ah okay, just disabled cfx again and went into the set up utility and sure enough it showed 6048 x 1200 Eyefinity.....went into game an hud was centered. Why on earth is it that having cfx enabled breaks this.

I did hack inside some locked doors, skipped the side quests though. I don't believe in side quests. It's just pointless unless it affects the ending,
like in STALKER and Castelvania, where I had to replay the game cos I got fake ending.

Man mothership Zeta was amazing though, Point lookout sucked, o well time for me to finish Operation Anchroage.

Don't believe in side quests, lol.

I'm 17 hours in and not even finished yet... and I'm not even obsessively exploring everything I can.

To finish this in 9 hours you'd have to just straight up run and gun through the whole thing with the least amount of exploration or interaction possible... you probably would even have to skip the cut-scenes and read the text quickly instead.

Yeah, 9 hours is about right on normal/easy mode + skipping most of the exploring/quests/terminals. I was at about 15 hours just on first Detroit alone (but I'm a completionist, I hacked every terminal and explored every inch).

Played a couple of hours, but found the AI to be annoying, and if you get killed, having to play the same section again is boring...so deleted the game.

Trying Dead Island now, more my kind of game!

Ah didn't notice when I was in the keybindings...

Just not my kind of game, I think it's the stealth aspect. I didn't enjoy the first Deus Ex, so should not have been surprised I did not enjoy this game either.

The awesomeness of gaming is there are games for everyone, so if you enjoy this game for 20+ hours, awesome! I found at least 10 major things unenjoyable about how the weapons worked, how the enemies reacted etc, and so moved to another game, which is cool right? Something for everyone.

I can applaud that, this game and Dead Island work triplewide, becoming more commonplace to get a major title working, maybe not perfectly, but good enough.
