What sort of FPS were you getting on medium/high settings on single screen and 3 screens?

What sort of CPU are you running?

I dont know how many FPS but as soon as I moved around it was stuttering.

As far as specs I have updated my Profile on left :D

COD has gameplay. Without destruction BF3 is nothing.

BF has squads, land and air vehicles , award winning sound, amazing graphics, real bullet physics (and Im not a huge realism fan) plus destruction. Whats not to love?
COD for PC is a console port which is why I dont ever play it on my computer, only on 360. Great to pick up and play, great matchmaking as well.

There is nothing that compares to being on top of a hill in your ghillie suit, you hold your breath, line the target in between your sights, squeeze trigger and watch the bullet curve downwards as it travels from barrel to enemy's head 1 second later head from a mile away. +150 Marksmanship Bonus. Aaaaaahhh, Extremely satisfying.

Like I said before man, Im a big fan of both. Great games, they just offer slightly different gameplay.

Crysis Wars has better graphics and vehicles. How many people play Crysis Wars? 0.

You seem to be missing the whole point of BF games in general.

And the two facts you seem to be basing your decision on is your "Strong" dual cpu and nerfed destruction.
It's widely known BFBC2 requires to quad CPU, to play with high settings on populated servers why would BF3 be any different?
Also Dice already stated the destruction was nerfed in the alpha, as the whole point of the alpha was the stress test.

With a name like that too I cant help but think your just trolling. Or just plain ignorant.

Just wondering, with your single 6970. What FPS do/did you get running eyefinity 5760 x 1080 in different modes? I am interested in getting a single 6970 for the time being, then possibly upgrading later.

But right now, I just want to know if one 6970 will run BF3 in eyefinity, on mediumish settings. I dont need AA or anything of the sort. Just a decent fps on decent settings.

Thanks!!

Didn't BFBC2 have center HUD? Hopefully they'll add that in before shipping BF3. It's been a nice progression since BF2 where they didn't even have proper WS support IIRC.

Guys please, does BF3 have microlag/stutter issues in crossfire while eyefinity? God damned BFBC2 have it so for the smooth gameplay you need to play on single card, even with low fps cuz higher "crossfired" fps does nothing since it's stutters as hell. I'm crossing my fingers to hear it's okay to play BF3 with crossfire+eyefinity.

I'm glad to see that DICE has made good on their promise for BF3.

BF3 + Origin and more

More good news (from article and posters actually participating in the alpha):
- BF3 will in fact require Origin
- The game must be launched via internet browser
- The game will require an EA browser plugin
- Switching servers requires exiting the game to go back to the web browser
- Origin pops up to deliver ads during game launch/loading

That pretty much squelches my interest in BF3. Great surround support just doesn't provide enough counterweight.

The Origin requirement is gonna bowl me over. Worse yet is some of the people mentioning the problematic steps your computer goes through just to do the simplest tasks. This better not be the way it's going to be. If they absolutely must have a Battlelog, then at least keep it just within the browser. Otherwise, they should just grab WebKit and use it to code their miniature in-game browser.

Wow. That's a whole load of horseshit that's a real turn off. The ads, in particular.

I'd like to see them make the game start up really fast if it's launched from the browser.. the skeptic in me says it will not happen. Why don't they just embed IE into the game and move on like the rest of the world?

I would also be curious to learn this as well.

Seeing as there was no crossfire/sli support and I didnt bother getting around that I ran it on high with a 6970 in eyefinity. There was lag, and stuttering but it wasnt THAT bad. So honestly, once the engine is optimised and released I reckon you wont have much problem running it on medium with eyefinity.

Not something I can gurantee tho. But it seemed more than doable.

Asfar as the "No destruction" goes, theres plenty of destruction in BF3, but it was scaled down significantly in the alpha as this was a test of the server/battlelog functions. So we had little to no options in things we could actually change. But MW and BF are two COMPLETLY different brands of FPS games. So I dont get the hate at all, its just silly. Like the other guy said, buy the one you enjoy.

Personally, Ill be getting both.

The web-browser is just temporary I think.

No, its permanent.

And the game startup from launching from the browser was actually quite fast even in alpha.

destruction fully in alpha?, lot of things wasn't there,
they tested a lot but a ton of things and besides, with planes and such you wouldn't have any houses left after a few minutes if you could bomb it all.
destruction makes BF3 the best fps shooter game ever.
without it, its the second best.

Lol they just announced BF3 won't have server browser and MW3 will have dedi servers.
Have fun playing some game at 30 fps without server list and with nerfed destro, and with preorder people who get exclusive guns that you can't get whilst I will proceed to pwn in MW3 at 90 (hopefully 120 if they unlock it) fps with my dedi servers.

The ol' saying goes: Don't feed the troll.

Rather than instigating a flame of CoD vs Battlefield, can we just stick to the topic on hand?

If any of you recall, BFBC2 didn't have CrossFireX support even when it was in beta. Considering that the BF3 alpha was intended to focus on netcode/battlelog and the beta will focus on graphics/stability/etc., I think it's safe to say that performance will be going up significantly between now and when the game is launched. Something like HUD scaling is likely not even close to the top of their list of priorities at this stage.

Also, yeah, don't feed the painfully obvious troll.

I posted a thread in the BF3 alpha bug forums about the problems with eyefinity that have already been stated here as well someother little glitches I found with the game. Not sure if anyone commented or not on it since it was the last two days of alpha when I posted and i'm sure I was just one of maybe 10 people playing with eyefinity.

Looks to be another console port http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ElPP5BFi9Wc
If they didn't have the name of the platform under each screen I couldn't even tell which one was PC and which one is console.

I fail to see why any of that is bad.

It's bad in their mind because BF3 is now too popular for them. Anything that has such mainstream appeal becomes the new thing that's cool to hate on.

This thread was created to discuss how BF3 copes with multi-monitor gameplay in the ALPHA test. Seeing as that is no longer being discussed, and the ALPHA test has ended, this thread will be locked.

If you wish to talk (in a civil manner) about BF3 generally, that can be done in the General Gaming Discussions forum.
