The FOV is indeed much too narrow/zoomed in the cockpit view

It seems ill have to wait for a patch / fix, im definetely tired of this zoomed view in flight syms like Black Shark and LOMAC. :?

Yeah, I'm waiting too. I have the game now, but haven't played it since hooked up TH2Go. When I first tried it, I decided to wait before trying to play it.

I only hope for two things. 4320x900 will be a selectable resolution and that the FOV works like it does in FSX. Although, it wouldn't have go back as far as FSX can go, but I would hope it has a nice bit of range to it.

I'm sure it will be awesome, once fixed.

Yes, my bad, FOV is ok with 1 camera using this tweak :

Any update on the patch timeline? I too have bought the game but cannot play on triplehead because of the zoom. Its just not right to play a flight sim on a single monitor, so I refuse to :)

Anxiously awaiting patch so I can play!

Sorry for bumping but I cannot any information anywhere with respect to a patch that is going to make this game playable on TH2Go.

Does anyone anywhere have any info? I am still waiting to play this game after buying it over a week ago. Every ad for this game says it has TH2Go support. But it doesn't and that makes me sad and a little frustrated... :(

Hi

No I haven't heard anything really. Over at SimHQ Jason said something about the next patch being a lot bigger than the first and also that he is testing it now. He has TH2Go, so I would hope that's part of the testing he is doing.
I only hope they get it right, like in FSX or rFactor (and most any other game that supports it). Neoqb's DR.1 for FSX is fantastic in triplehead, in FSX. I can only imagine how RoF will be when they get it working like it should be.
Hopefully soon now, but I have no idea.

Thanks for the response, Butch! Yeah, if they do it like TH2Go has been implemented in FSX, I would be more than pleased. Just wanna play....

You're welcome. Sorry I haven't anything else to offer.
I'm just like you, I can't play right now either. I have a made a few flights, but just the free fly. The view is just too restricted to try to fight anything, other than a balloon.

Since Matrox is working with them on it, I have a feeling they will get it right and it should be what we are expecting it to be. I mean even Test Drive Unlimited does it right, so I have little worries they will come through.

It's hard knowing how everyone is flying and having so much fun while we are stuck on the aerodrome with,,,, let's say 'clipped wings', lol.

We'll be there though. Just hang in there :)

Hi again

A patch is due out anytime now.
There is no mention of TH2Go being fixed, but it did state there were things corrected in all screens, so hopefully this means we will have the correct FOV when using TH2Go. I certainly hope so, I want to play too.

Check the News section at the official Rise of Flight site for information.

Fingers crossed here.

Well place your order thales100!

Working beautifully now.

This shows it panned out as far as it will go. More than enough, so all is good.
Thank you Neoqb, Matrox, Jason (of 777 Studios) and anyone else that helped in getting this straightened out.

So, if you don't hear from me on the boards for a while, just look up, I'm somewhere over France ;)

Bye for now

Hi again

Jason said they are not 100% satisfied with it yet and further enhancements will be coming. But hey, they got it pretty good now and it's certainly playable like this. I suppose maybe they mean the edge distortion, he didn't get into details about what they are still looking into.

One thing is for sure, they are fully commited to support and any improvements beyond this is only a plus.

Great news! Next question - where do I get the patch?

I have been to the RoF site, seen the dev notes on patch 1.004 (http://riseofflight.com/Blogs/post/2009/07/28/Patch-1004.aspx).

I click the link that says "Patch 1.004", which basically opens a duplicate page - no download options given. I have read the whole page. Nowhere does it say where to get the patch. I have googled it - nothing.

If someone can post a link, I would be most grateful.

Thanks!

Hi

The game patches its self from the launcher.
Simply double click the launcher and then select the neoqb server in the window that will open. It then automatically updates. It may take a little bit, the patch is 525MB.

Ha! Thanks! It's too easy that way. I was never going to figure it out w/o help :)

But now, of course, my Track IR is acting up. This was never meant to be played by me!

Thanks to the devs too. Looks great!

I don't as yet have this game. Has the th2go issue been addressed? Is there a key for adjusting the seat position? Simply adjust your seating if it can be done and that should take care of the too close issue.

Hi

Yes, you can move the seat forward/back, side to side and up/down.
The FOV zoom now works well, see the picture I posted above. That shot shows it zoomed out as far as it will go. Which is more than enough and I don't play with it back that far.
Anyway, TH2Go now works correctly with it and offers the FOV we expect from it.

Jason said they still are not 100% satisifed, but I don't know what that meant. Only thing I see that could be improved is the menu option buttons being moved to all be on the center screen. Not a real problem, but as it is, there is a lot of going from left screen to right screen, back and forth when setting up for the flight. Again, not a big deal though.

So if you have been waiting for proper TH2Go support before you buy, it's time to place your order, hehe.

Happy flying :)

Hey, yes the game is great, its really nice to flight, but in fact i was expecting better graphics, all maxed at 5040x1050 it looks "ok" at most imo.

Edit: Game looks really good, all you have to do is to disable all the post processing options, it kills both AA and AF.

Load times ? Its like 15 - 20 secs here at most, you should try to defrag your HD, it may help.
