I'm loaded up and ready for the B.E.T.A.! I'm guessing that multi-monitor is going to be a broken mess just like it was with Fallout 4, but I'm holding out a little hope that just maybe someone over there payed attention to our pleas for proper ultrawide/multi-monitor support from past games.

Who else is hoping to play in surround/eyefinity?

On the official forums people are asking about 21:9 and multi-monitor support which they are looking to support "post launch" according to one of the community managers. Looks like I'm canceling my pre-order on Amazon until I see how this plays out.

I have 3 27" monitors (7680x1440). I've been running this setup for over 3 years in surround. Most games (even Indie ones) support this res out of the box. Bethesda has been ignoring the Ultrawide Community for far too long. I just cancelled my Amazon pre-order. If this "promised" inclusion of support becomes reality I'll consider a re-purchase.

What did you expect from a game which has the complete physics based on FPS and threfore locked on 60hz. No 144hz support.

i really really REALLY hope that the next Elder Scrolls (which they teasered, should be around 2020 or 22?) comes on a NEW engine.

Guess it's time to reread the Fallout 4 threads... i've completly forgotten what i've done back then to get it running ^^ maybe somehow we can fiddle around with F76

P.S Can you try this tomorrow?
https://bethesda.net/community/topic/24 ... ini-tweaks

mainly the FoV part...
And mybe you need to activate write protection on the ini.

Hey Haldi! I remember spending hours(days?) editing the interface.ba2 from fallout 4 to get it all working.. even manually fixing things with a hex editor when I couldn't do it with JPEXS. Figuring out ini edits to fix inventory icon size problems.. BLEH!!!!

I knew that would most likely be an option this time around but I had ZERO desire to do it with a beta... Not to mention I wonder what the implications are with using modified files with an online game. Now knowing I can't change the FOV even with an ini edit.. yuck. Thanks for the work you did. I'll give it a try, but even with a "fixed" UI the FOV is the BIGGEST issue. I'm so used to the triple monitors and very wide FOV that it's just completely jarring and immersion breaking at 1920x1080 or 5760x1080. Luckily I don't get motion sickness.. but it's still FUCKED(no better way to put it).

I hope what the community manager said about "planning to support it post launch" is true.. but honestly I'm not holding my breath. The Gambryo engine they use is just so completely broken(fucked?) for modern PC graphics/systems that I just don't think it's something they are going to be able to fix. I hope I'm wrong and I'll gladly eat the proverbial crow to be proven wrong. If it was easy to fix they would have done it already. It's PAST time for a complete redesign of the engine from the ground up IMO. They just can't continue on using the engine in its current state on PC.

I just tried your modded interface.ba2. I can load the game.. the main menu is still not right(don't know if you edited that or not) and then as soon as I press "play" i'm met with a black screen and the game crashes.

I just now canceled my preorder for a hard copy of the tricentennial edition from Amazon.. Screw this. I was only mildly excited about this MMO fallout anyways. I'm not much of an online only player... I was just hoping it would scratch the fallout itch. I MIGHT reconsider once there are reports of them finally fixing this broken game engine.

EDIT* My post to Bethesda about this crap - https://bethesda.net/community/topic/250154/i-canceled-my-tricentennial-edition-pre-order?language%5B%5D=en

Uhgs... I've had one crash in-game after walking for about 5 meter but none other than that and I've tried about 4-6 different interfaces.ba2
Seems like the Odd/Even bug when force reimporting is still around -.- haven't started the game with the 48:9 interface yet. Just assume that if my 32:9 and my friends 21:9 work without issues it should just work.

Fixing this time around was way easier. Jpex and editing header + Moving the Interface to center. Only took about 45mins to edit the whole folder for 48:9.
But that was the last one I've done ^^ been at it for 5h straight so I knew what to edit and what not^^

But yeah... Without useful FoV a fixed interface is just a joke. I'm not entirely sure if the FoV is hardcoded or limited at 115. Maybe its Y FoV and not for the X Axis ... But on 32:9 it's barely playeable. gotta try some restarts and different settings next time.

I'm not really worried about the modified files.... As they are only for the interface it shouldn't really matter. But because the file size is still exactly the same so only a hash check could find a difference. And I doubt they so that to the whole 40gb of Data just to find some local tampering.

So what Exactly is the issue with the Main Menu? I think it works pretty well even on Stock.

Here some more Pictures of Unmoded Fallout 76 in Eyefinity: https://imgur.com/a/aGQJfrG

But yeah, found out why the Eyfinity fix broke.... i've edited too much in the main HUD. Now i've done a quick n Dirty edit all the most important settings, so the main HUD is centered. Stuff like Level up and others might still show up on the Left side tough... well shit happens....
Except from that i fixed mostly everything.
made a short Youtube video about the Interface:

Oh... and i did forget about the Selfie mode in the video :P fixed now.

So yeah, replaced the Link in the Previous Post. just give it a Try.

I'll try again on Launchday, if it doesn't work... well i've got my skripts ready to fix shit faster :)

Okay.... that makes stuff faster...

Download this file and place it in Fallout 76/Data folder:

open \Documents\My Games\Fallout 76\Fallout76Custom.ini and add:

Code:
[Archive]
SResourceArchiveList2 = SeventySix - Animations.ba2, SeventySix - EnlightenInteriors.ba2, SeventySix - GeneratedTextures.ba2, SeventySix - EnlightenExteriors01.ba2, SeventySix - EnlightenExteriors02.ba2, Interfacefix32-9.ba2

No more need to download 200mb file ;) Just figured out how to edit an Archive and how to add it partially... Will do same for 48:9
For 21:) visit here: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout76/mods/2?tab=description

Edit:
Seems like the Text in the Map and stuff called bsbuttonhintbar or buttonbarmenu not sure which one... is not getting accepted if used this method :(
So just take the FULL interfaces.ba2 if you are bothered by that.

Edit2:
Tried the same for Eyefinity. Give it a Try and report back :)

Hi Haldi, I made an account just so that I can tell you THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!! The 48x9 ba2 is working great for me in game. I'm so happy to be able to play on all my monitors now. I had just figured out how much work it was going to take to fix the files myself with JPEXS (too much for me.) Thank you so much for sharing.

The small files still work the same.
Full .ba2 can be found on Mega as always.

Ohhhhhhh....
Yeah that totally makes sense!
I've patched the Overlay.swf to center on the middle screen.
So instead of showing the notifications on the outer right monitor they show up on the center one.... BUT because Bethesda did not 'hide' these notifications but simply move them outside the Monitor they now stay there.

I might not be able to fix that except send all notifications to the right monitor :(

Hi everyone I've done a partial HUD fix for fallout 76 version 1.0.3.17 (48-9) aspect ratio it still needs some work. I will do a better fix of the HUD after I finish my new PC build cause my current PC barely runs the game so not really playing it anyways here is the link to the .BA2

While there is already a working 48:9 interface.ba2 out there, I tried your version out. It has some extra text boxes floating permanently on the right side from whenever you created it. Otherwise it does the job.
The existing alternate 48:9 file that I use is still working fine with 1.0.4.13

As of v1.0.5.10 the HUD seems to be natively confined to the center instead of being stretched at triple monitor 1080 resolutions (1080x5870) ! Unfortunately however there is an issue with the unused notification situated just to the right of center, appearing on the right monitor instead of off of the screen entirely.

The interface for containers, crafting, etc. are all stretched out still.

The modded interface.ba2 seems to no longer work. When I try to use it Fallout 76 crashes upon loading.

Haldi, thank you so much for creating these files, the notifications and the stretched many make it really ugly to play this game on 48x9. Unfortunately there is a weird issue that I cannot trade items anymore whenever this file is active. When accessing the trade menu of a vendor everything shows up normally but when I try to execute a trade it only shows a message "item cannot be traded" on the top left of the center screen. I confirmed this carefully on a fresh install without any mods or other changes to the ini files, it only happens when your modded Interface.ba2 is used. Any idea what could cause this?

uHGS...
Yeah i had to mod the securetrade.swf for Scrapping menue to scale properly....
Didn't try any trading.
Because i used the old file which has a modified header it might be broken...

So new 1.0.6.0 Patch.
With all new Files... Good luck!
DL link in Mega folder.

P.S
Don't forget to go to the official Forums and complain about incomplete Widescreen Support :) They are fixing it, thingy by thingy.... and will get there one day... but we should give them some feedback about the progress.

Hours? it Takes about 15 Minutes to fix all ^^

How it's done...
Haldi wrote:
Tutorial how to edit .ba2 files
Things you need:
(Edit: OR use Archive2.exe which comes included in the Creation Kit for Fallout 4 )
JPEXS Free Flash Decompiler from here: https://github.com/jindrapetrik/jpexs-d ... r/releases (take the Nightly... You might not have a Header for F76)
the original Fallout4 Interfaces.ba2)

What to do?
Edit: Open the Interface.ba2 with archive2.exe select the files you want to extract, click on Archive-> Extract Selected to
You have now an unpacked archive and can modify all .swf files how you wan't em.

What to change?
You have the heade of the .swf file, most of the time it's enough to simply change that to the Aspect Ratio you want.
Original is 25'600x14'400 twips aka 1280x720 pixel (Yep... it's simply x 20) if you wan't 21:9 you don't set it to your Resolution of 3440x1440 but leave it the 720p in height and simply set the according 1706 pixel wide aka 34'120 twips

Image

How to prevent certain Elements from being Left aligned?
Stuff like Examine and Workshop are all left aligned, if you want them to be over the whole Monitor you'd need to modify each element itself.
If you wan't them to be Centered you can modify the whole Frame. you go to "Frames" select "frame 1" select tha "place Object blablabla" and search for the "translateX: SB[n TranslateBits] = 000" in "matrix". With this you can move the whole Frame segment.
Be aware that this are NOT pixels but twips (pixel x 20) and that the maximum X lenght is defined in the header of the file, not your gaming resolution.

Image

How to recompile the .swf files into a .ba2
Edit:
Open the interface.ba2 with Archive2.exe click on Archive-> Add Folder and import the Folder you exported and fixed before. Now click on File->Save and thats all.

The only files i fixed in this release were:
examinemenu.swf
overlay.swf
securetrade.swf
selfiemenu.swf

Something else might still be broken and needs fixing tough ^^

I tried the newest "V2" interface.ba2 fail but it won't allow Fallout 76 to start. The earlier one would not allow trades as reported earlier.

Wowowow the v2 was for patch V 1.0.1.14 right?
The current game version is V 1.0.6.0 you need to download the Interface from that Folder.

You can Sort by Upload Date, that helps.

New patch, and of course it is broken again ... you cannot drop anything, item descriptions in the pipboy are missing, workshop menu is completely blank, etc.

Now, I don't want to come back every time they patch their game and waste Haldi's time to fix this, so I am currently looking at the JPEXS decompiler window and followed the steps to do it myself. Generally the process seems to work and I can load my modified Interface.ba2 files, thanks a lot for the step-by-step guide. However, I am not able to figure our how to remove the Quickplay-invite notification and "controls have been temporarily disabled" notification described here: http://www.wsgf.org/forums/viewtopic.ph ... 6&start=19

(fun fact: bethesda seems to be aware of this issue, but instead of fixing it they merely replaced the inviting user name there to _____ in order to preserve his/her privacy ... can't make this shit up)

Removing these notifications is the most important thing though, because they cover very important parts of the screen, like the stash box size or the vendor item list, so having them is not just ugly but an actual problem in-game.

@Haldi: could you explain which of the swf files have to be modified to get rid of them (or at least to move them to a less important place and the screen)? You mentioned that you put some menus on the right screen, but I don't know how. I am planning to create a version of Interface.ba2 that fixes that and JUST that (i.e. while keeping all menu scalings ugly), with the hope that this will then also work with future patches. Of course I am happy to share the file here on the forum once it is done.

The last fix i did only included the files:
examinemenu.swf
overlay.swf <-- includes Popup/Friend invites
securetrade.swf
selfiemenu.swf

If you want the Friendinivtes to be Right bound you simply need to change the resolution in the header from 38400x21600 to triplewide 115200. it will be automatically on the right side. If you center it notifications will be stuck on the right monitor all the time.

That alone didn't do the trick for me, it still showed these persistent popup windows on the right screen. Now I tweaked the Display Rect parameters a little bit and finally set them to 10000,14000 (twips) such that it is moved outside of the screen, but the "World found" popup is also heavily clipped (which isn't that dramatic imo). I uploaded the Interface.ba2 with only this change here:

I am also doing a version with all the other files fixed that you mentioned in your list. Also I would love to fix hudmenu.swf to make the HUD symbols more centered. The guide above explains how to shift frames to the center screen using the translation params, however, in hudmenu.swf there are a lot of them. Should I add 51200 to all X translations there?

Good luck with that.

The HUD menu is somewhat complicated. If you shift all it probably breaks and crashes at startup.
So the safest option is to edit only Health and others. I think they were named bottom right bar and bottomleftbar and center bar or stuff like that.
Luckily it will preview the changes. So you can see if it was the right one :)

P.S thanks for taking over.
I haven't started the game in ages so my motivation is almost non existential.

Yeah there we go... easier to see when you have it in front of you ^^

As you can see i've only changed
RightMeters
LeftMeters
BottomCenterGroup
TopCenterGroup

You can try and add more. But the chance that the game crashes increases the more you edit.
Oh, and try not to change stuff that has TranslateX 0 while named "Center***" because that might be centered by UI and not LeftBound like most other stuff.

@ekzhl I tried out your new interface.ba2 file yesterday. Great to have the text boxes mostly moved off screen. I use 5760 by 1080 and now the server message box is off-screen to the lower right and so doesn't display when it needs to. Can you move it up a bit? Also a bit right so it goes off the screen completely. The other thing that would be great is it the transfer screen (stashbox, vendor etc) was compressed to the middle screen like @Haldi's ones. Less swivelling of my head trying to look at all the info... Thanks again!

Hi ekzhl,
Sorry but I found a game breaking bug. It's impossible to search for players vioa the Social screen as the search text box is off the bottom of the screen (at 5760 x 1080 anyway) I'm back on the old one again.

Hi, sorry wasn't able to play much fallout the last weeks. I gave it another shot now after the new patch and also updated the overlay.swf file of interface.ba2 again. For me, on 5760x1200, the wanted overlays now appear correctly within the visible area while the unwanted ones are clipped and should not be visible.

Hi Ekzhl. Tried it out. Looks much better, thanks. When I have time I might try doing this myself :)

Hi again,
I made a new one for 48:9 5760 x 1080 which moves the pop-up notifications correctly so they slide in and out at the far right. I also tried compressing the examine menu to just the middle screen but can't get that to work.

Looks like this topic has completely died and the baton passed to me. I can upload new interface.ba2 files to somewhere for 48:9, 5760 x 1080 if anyone is interested.

If anyone would like to try this file, please do. It's ONLY for 48:9 and 5760 by 1080.

I updated the file for Patch 9.5 and have made a folder structure with clear names. It's not perfect but works for me and gets that crap off the screen to where it's supposed to be.
