windows 7 64 bit with triplehead2go digital edition and 8800 gtx gpu's. in dx9 mode for this game it allows me to choose my native 4320x900 or even 5040x1050 (but dont use that res as it is not native and blurry) BUT under dx10 these resolutions are not available. attempting to force the native res of 4320x900 in the ini file produces poor results. so in dx10 mode the game only allows for 2 surround resolutions and they are 3072x768 and 3840x1024. ironically 3840x1024 has more pixels than 4320x900 so i am puzzled why my native res is not allowed in dx10 but it is in dx9. |

Yes, TripleHead2Go DE has issues with these res's in DX10, and we're as puzzled as you are. :( |

i emailed TH2G support and asked them why this is. it just does not make any sense. i mean, it makes the product virtually obsolete in a way. |

I know what you mean, but on the other hand, it's not Matrox's fault if DX10+ has strange ways to deal with non-standard resolutions... Surround gaming is a world of compromises, don't expect everything to work perfectly all the time. Bear in mind the "wide" modes for TH2G DE are just a late firmware upgrade and DX9 is still the dominant API today... |

well my desktop rig with the eyefinity from ati has no issues assigning these resolutions in dx11 (and i am pretty sure even in dx10 but i have to check on this tomorrow) so not sure why the dx10 platform is to blame. dx10 supports even a higher resolution limit than dx9 from what i read. |

i want to say that i am new to this whole surround gaming scene. but i do have a nice setup, currently. i realized that 3072x786 pushes the same amount of pixels as 1920x1200, which is my laptop's native res so there is no performance degregation there. this got me thinking. i am using 3 asus 19" monitors with 1440x900 native resolution. now, i know i can simply run these resolutions but it would not be native so they look blurry. is there a way to fight this blurriness with some kind of scaler? i mean, are there computer lcd monitors out there that have better built-in scalers than others? i just really hate running applications outside of the native resolution because of this. of course, back in the days of CRT i did not have this issue. |
