After much pain and suffering I finally got 5040x1050 working last night, but I have a weird problem... My games will not play at this resolution. If 5040x1050 works in windows why won't any games, or the SGU recognize it? weird... Everytime I restart the computer, windows goes nuts on me. It changes my primary monitor to my 4th monitor. It also messes up it's position. my 4th monitor sits centered over my middle monitor, and it windows changes it's position to as if it is sitting to the left of the triplehead. So as I start fixing that, it changes the triplehead resolution back to 3840x1024 and throws all my shortcuts, and gadgets everywhere. I have to go back to nvidia control panel and get 5040x1050 working each time... This really sucks, and is probably why the games will not recognize the new resolution, but I cannot figure out how to fix it. I tried to do what is covered in the sticked thread, here... http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/node/9215 , but it did not work, and this seems like a different problem. Also of note it that matrox will not recognize the 5040x1050 resolution as being there... |

So, trying to understand your setup. You're running a TH2G from one of your cards, and a fourth monitor from a secondary output? |

No, sorry I was not clear. I am running 2 GTS 250's in sli. Both the triplehead, and 4th monitor are running offf of the same card since sli now allows multiple monitoring. It was suggested to me by someone here through PM to disconnect the 4th monitor, and see what happens. I am going to try that, but I doubt it will "fix" anything EDIT: I disconnected the 4th monitor, and the triplehead went directly back to 3824x1028. I had to go back to nvidia, and add the new resolution again, and now I have 5040x1050 back on my desktop, but the games still dont work. |

Ok, so now that the 4th monitor is disconnected the desktop loads fine after a reboot, but SGU still does not see the 5040x1050, and neither do my games. When I open the GXM setup it say's my current mode is 5040x1050 @57hz...but when I go to edit modes list , it is not in any of the options in the provided display modes... |

Also to clarify, FSX will start, but not show 5040x1050 as an option for resolution. NFS shift will not even load. It just says Shift has stopped working...checking for errors...yes your computer sucks, buy eyefinity already why don't ya! Kinda weird...lol |

OK, getting somewhere. Ok mine in my 'edit mode list' on the right hand side I have 3______1360*768@60Hz______16:9 1______1680*1050@60Hz_____16:10 3______1280*800@60Hz______16:10 In the left hand column, with the button in for the '3(TripleHead)' selected I dont have any res above 3______1280*1024@60Hz_____5:4. I have never used the SGU and most games run nativly from the res that is set in Windows. I can however not get DX10 to work via TH2GD, so I run those games in DX9 compatability mode. I almost completly ignor the matrox software. My res is set via the nVidia control panel (nVidia 195.39 drivers). I have to set up a custom res for it to work tho. So this involves changing things like Active Pixels, Front Porch, Sync Width, Total Pixels. If you have yours running I would assume you already have done that ? |

OK, getting somewhere. Yeah I never use matrox for anything. I had to do the custom resolution also. in my "edit mode list" I only have Right side 3_______1280x1024@60hz_________5:4 3_______1025x768@60hz__________4:3 Left side with triple head , and wide selected the highest mine goes is 3_________1380x768@60hz_________16:9 So maybe this is a problem. It does not have anything remotely close to 5040x1050... Do you have the beta, or newest GXM? I am tempted to just reinstall the new GXM, and leave my drivers alone to see what happens. But, I fear I'll never get it working again. |

Well, I changed mine to look like yours, restarted, and it does the same thing. 5040x1050 works perfectly in windows, but the games do not recognize it... |

FSX won't show 5040 in DX10 mode.... Don't you have to click "preview directx10'? That is not clicked. I just uninstalled, and reinstalled fsx, and deleted all files associated with it, and it still will not show up as one of my options under "customize" in the settings menu |
