Post subject:  combine widescreen and "normal" screen with TH2Go

Hi guys,

Do you know if it's possible to use 2 5/4 screens and one central 16/10 screen with the new release of Th2go?

I would like to have this configuration:

****|******|****
****|******|****
****|******|****

Thank you!!

The only way to mix display resolutions would be to use SoftTH.

From what I've read, the resolutions must match, but couldn't you stick a 16:10 monitor in the middle and have it display 1280x1024 like the other monitors? Yes, the screen might be stretched/funky, but it should work, right?

GA is correct.

I definately wished you could do that since 17" LCD's are the same hieght as the 20" WS!

Ok,

Thank you for your help!!!
I will try this solution...

But do you also know if the result will be correct if I try a 1280*1024 resolution when playing in surround mode on my 22" and use the native resolution on the 22" (no triple screen) for the surf, etc...

Other question:

Is my 8800GTX 320Mo sufficient to play in 3840*1024 resolution?

Thank you!

Yes, that will work fine. If you have dual-input monitors, you can even hook up one of your side monitors to your secondary GPU output and run a dual-monitor desktop with each screen at its native resolution.

With an inexpensive secondary GPU you can drive your third screen this way as well. Telling windows you have three real monitors instead of one ultra-wide one also has big benefits pertaining to 2D desktop management software (because Powerdesk sucks the big one in this area).

Yes, although you probably won't be able to max settings on the newest titles. But you should be able to get everything playable with reasonable settings.

So, if I understand (I'm french... ), I can connect my 3 screens DVI --> TH2Go --> first output of my GPU in triplescreen resolution (downscaling for the 22")
My central screen (22", 2nd output) --> second output of my GPU in native resolution.

So I will be able to use my central 22" screen for 2D desktop with the native resolution, and swap to the triplescreen with th2go when 3D gaming..

Thank you for your help!

Nope you don't have that quite right.

What I'm saying is that you can connect your primary GPU's first output to your TripleHead2Go. Through that first output you can display either of the the following:
A. 3840x1024 on 3 screens.
B. 1680x1050 one 1 screen.

You can connect your primary GPU's second output to a side monitor and run this monitor at 1280x1024. This way you don't have to change from 3 screens to 1 on your Windows desktop; instead you will have 2.

If you have a secondary GPU (i.e. another graphics card) you can drive the other side monitor from that GPU.

Ok that's totally clear for me now!

Thank you very much for your help.

another last question: will the image of the 22" with non native resolution (1280*1024) be dirty or degraded?
Thanks a lot!!

If you have the widescreen (the 22') then you can try it out. Select 1280x1024 resolution, and look how it is streched
