[quote][quote]Dude get 200-22in you do not want to pump 1680*1050 into a 1920*1200 monitor, you will get poorer quality than on a 20-22
I dunno just for a test I ran CoD4 on my 24" Dell at 1680x1050 with 16AA/AF it looked fine!

That may be true but 16AA/AF at 5040x1050 will be hard to run.
ROFL! So right unless I just stick to playing Quake and Doom.....original!

I think the scalers on the Dells are pretty good from what I have seen on reviews especially the 08 models onwards. The desktop doesn't look good IMO but CoD4 did look fine! Soo tempting 3 24" screens....mmmmmmmmm

Now, this barrier of 3 x 1280 x 1024 is broken, I wonder when will the 3 x 1680 x 1050 be broken again?
What is keeping Matrox from going up to 3 x 1920 x 1080/1200 ? Maybe, they are waiting for ATI HD6870 or Nvidia GTX480 to have enough graphic power for those pixels?
5760 x 1200 (triple 1920 x 1200) greatly exceeds the maximum bandwidth supported by a dual-link DVI cable, while 5040 x 1050 fits inside the bandwidth limitation. Don't expect to see any higher resolution than 5040 x 1050 from a product that utilizes dual-link DVI.

If dual link DVI's 7.92 Gbits/sec is pretty much maxed out by 5040 x 1050, then a bandwidth of about 10.3Gbits/s is needed for 5760 x 1200.
And display port's max bandwidth of 10.8Gbits/s might just solve the issue here.
So, maybe the next generation of DTH2Go will have display port ? :)

I don't see what the problem with using 16 bit colors is??? Would greatly reduce the bandwidth requirements.

All modern GFX cards handle 16-bit equal or very close to 32-bit colour. If anyone has any benchies showing good old 16-bit giving a real world boost please share.

Any definitive word on ATi's 1440x900 per screen limit? This point was brought up but never confirmed. I have e-mailed Matrox for a simple clarification. No reply yet (two days). Whats the word guys?

Is it even confirmed that ATi can do 1680x1050 now? I haven't heard any confirmation of ATi(and which cards?) getting past 1440x900. Everyone is strangely lacking on this question, especially Matrox (a vague asterisk at the bottom of an add page?!? Please).
ATi's 4800 series with Intel MB and CPU's are the hot ticket of the day(who does SLI now?), I would have thought the ATi cards rez support would have been more of a concern.
Anyone?

While this is true, If your running a setup like this you almost need SLI (or CrossFire).

Well that is sort of my point DaFox. Between Intel and AMD chipsets the market is almost completely dominated by CrossFire. So that brings me back to my question. Does anyone have any solid answers to the ATi resolution limits of the new widescreen modes and to which cards they apply to?
