Hi,

i found this forum while searching for a solution to my specific Eyefinity problem and i hope, someone can help me.

I'm using a 34" LG UltraWide with 3440x1440 and 2x a 27" LG 4k Monitor with 3840x2160 (which obviously also would run on 2560x1440).
My plan was now, to create an eyefinity group with 8560x1440 (2560-3440-2560 x 1440).
But this doesn't work.
Every time i create the eyefinity group, i can only manage to get a resolution of
11520x2160 (3x3840x2160) if i "fit" or "stretch" the group,
or
7680x1440 (3x2560x1440) if i use "fill" for the group.
So the "best" solution is the second one, but the picture on the UW is stretched with this setting.

I start with all 3 monitors seperated but the Desktop is expanded to the 4k displays on the side. It doesn't change anything if i set the 4k displays to 3840x2160 or 2560x1440. Everytime i active Eyefinity, i have to choose one display. It doesn't matter if i chose one of the 4k or the UW. The 4k Displays are always set back to its max resolution of 3840x2160 and that seems to be the problem. But after creating the eyefinity group i can't change the resolution of the seperate displays on it's on (which is obvious).

I found this blog entry https://community.amd.com/community/gam ... -eyefinity
It's a bit older, but it's more or less the same setup as mine, with the difference, that every monitor is running on 1080 and mine have different heights (2160 and 1440) but a fitting resolution would be possible.

Is there any solution to my problem? Or would this only work, if i would use 27" 2560x1440 monitors with the UW?

Do you need to use 4K res? If not, you can make a EDID Mask to make your computer think that the 27"rs are 2560x1440 max and get your desired resolution.

Look up Toasty X's CRU. Pick the 27" monitor from the drop down, and edit the 4K resolution to 2560x1440. Do this for the other 27". Unplug and replug the 2 27"rs, and then check to make sure the monitors are running 2560x1440 and 3840x2160 aren't showing.

If successful, you will not be able to create the eyefinity group you're looking for. Lemme know if you need some more help.

Thanks for your reply but i just have seen it today and had to bring the monitor back today.

Still i tryed it with the CRU tool with semi good results.
I was able !once! to active the correct resolution.
I changed the resolutions (30 and 60Hz) to 2560x1440 instead of 3840x2160 and saved it. After reseting the driver with the tool it was working somehow. In windows, i could still chose 3840x2160 but Eyefinity didn't set back the montiors to this resolution so i could use the 8560x1440.
But i had tearing issues on the two 27"rs. The widescreen was fine but on the side monitors it didn't look good. I tryed it with and without vysnc, different settings ... but always the same. In windows it also seemed to lag when i moved the mouse pointer. On the widescreen, there was no problem, but on the 27"rs ... pretty weird.
After that i wanted to change the Hz of the Widescreen from 55-75Hz Range to 40-75Hz but after that nothing worked any more.
I had to reset all monitors and bring back the one i bought, to get back my money.

Maybe the tearing/vsync is a problem, because the monitor has to scale down the picture as it is not displayed in the native 3840x2160 resolution?

I think the best option would be, to sell the 27" 4k i won and buy 2x 27" UHD with 2560x1440 native resolution. This way it should work perfectly.
BUT
I don't know which monitors i should buy. There are not many that do have a good price-performance ratio.
Or do you have any idea, what could have possibly the issue with the tearing on the 27"rs. Perhaps i can try it with the one i still have and if i can solve the problem, i can buy the same one again :D
