Hey guys, im quite the newb when it comes to multi-monitor displays. Recently picked up a a rig with a 3 6970's in cross fire, AMD 1100t processor, 16 gigs of ram, 2 250 gig ssds in raid 0, watercooled, all the good stuff. It came with 3 matching asus monitors. i have my three monitors hooked up with the fallowing connections : hdmi - hdmi, hdmi - displayport, display port - display port. Heres my issue I was editing the order of my screens in the catalyst, got everything correct, then i wanted to select my main monitor ( the middle ) and as soon as i did that, they all shut off and were not getting input from my computer. Now when i turn on everything with all the monitors plugged into my computer, the boot screen shows on the outside 2, then when it should load my main screen, they all go idle. IF i unplug one monitor ( any of them ) then the other 2 come back to life. Any input would be greatly appreciated Thanks |

this sounds really strange.... The Bootscreen is.... well not sure if it's random.... but it has nothing to do with how your monitors are handled under windows. have you tried uninstalling all AMD drivers? |

The bios screen chooses what ever is the first and second monitor. The only way to choose which is the 1st and second, is changing inputs on the card. You cant change this in windows. To fix your issues with the monitors going idle, I'd unplug a monitor, use Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) and get rid of all AMD Drivers, then I'd reinstall the drivers. Catalyst remembers several monitor arrangements, and the one with all your monitors seems to be messed up. If you only use the built in uninstaller, it will keep the arrangements and you'll still have that issue. |
