Well, first of all, my Setup:

Phenom X6 1100T 6x 3,3 Ghz
16 gb DDR3-Ram
1000W power supply
2x Radeon HD6950 (Powercolor 2GB as Primary, ASUS Direct-OC 2GB as Support 16x+4x crossfire using Riser/Extender-Cables, as my Tower ist too small to fit the ASUS-Card)
2x 24" Monitors (iiyama - 2x HDMI, DVI or VGA + Hyunday - VGA + Fujitsu Siemens 19" - DVI or VGA
deLock active Display-Port to DVI-Adapter (with USB-power)
Windows 8.1 Pro.

I have successfully set up 3 Monitors now - both 24" are 1920*1080, but bot 19" or 17" are 1280*1024 using a miniDP to DP cable and the die DP to DVI-adapter.
I tried using the iiyama (DVI) with display port or one of the smaller ones. The hyunday is at the graphics card with a VGA-DVI-adapter on one DVI-Port and either other monitor is using a HDMI (card) to DVI (monitor) cable.

The main problem is, that the 3rd Monitor (either 19" or 17") has a different display res - with 1024 instead of 1080 or 1200 in portrait mode.
When i try to setup eyefinity (latest AMD beta driver), i can't select a higher resolution than 3840*1080 (or 3840*1024), which means, that both 24" are stretched.
I tried modiyin the resolution of the 19" from 1280*1024 to 1280*1080 with the CRU (custom resolution utility) and it worked (lokked a bit out of aspect ration, but that's normal - i then tried creating a new Eyefinity-Group, but still had the max. resolution of 3840*1080.

I thought with the new drivers, an eyefinity group with different sizes/screen res. should be possible now.
I also tried using SoftTH 2.0.8a for games (tried it on Diablo 3), but it looked strange. (The UI was mostly part of the first screen, but the ingame was "squeezed down" to 1/4 screen, so i gave up on this one.

am I missing any setting? I also discovered there is a setting in the CCC -> http://www.pcper.com/files/imagecache/a ... inity2.png
but my settings are missing this option. Any help?

The current AMD Beta driver is older than their main Omega driver. You should get the latter, its their mega update with new features & fixes. I have it installed, & get that Fit/Fill option screen during group creation. Let me know whether or not Omega driver works for you.

I checked my driver version and I'm using the Omega driver - from the beta package, it only updated the AMD Gaming Evolved App, so I'm using the latest driver.

I re-arranged my graphics cards, so that the "Eyefinity 6 approved" (according to the box/packing and forums here) ASUS Radeon HD6950 2GB Direct CUII overclocked is now my primary graphics card running at 16x and my other card is the Powercolor Radeon HD6950 2GB now running at 4x.

I also now changed the HDMI-DVI-cable to a DVI-DVI-cable, so my setup is now:
Hyundai 24" VGA connected via DVI-VGA-adapter
iiyama 24" connected via DVI-DVI and the
FujSie 19" is connected via DVI-DVI via Display-port (with USB)

Still, in Eyefinity Setup, I get the max. display res. of 3840x1024 (due to the 1280*1024-Monitor) and see no options with fill or anything, nor a higher selectable resolution.

Soon, I will be getting a 22" 1920*1080 Monitor (for testing) and I will see, if I get then higher results and then maybe just buy a 3rd 24" Monitor, if mixed res. won't work.

I also tried only using the ASUS Graphics card only (disconnecting the Powercolor), and still didn't get any options.

Your problem acts like driver/CCC is old. If you wish to be dead certain you're running current version, check against mine (running win8.1). In CCC, under Information, Software:
Driver Packaging Version 14.501.1003-141120a-178000C
Catalyst Version 14.12 AMD Catalyst Omega Software
...
2D Driver Version 8.01.01.1443
...
Direct3D Version 9.14.10.01080
OpenGL Version 6.14.10.13283
Mantle Driver Version 9.1.10.0045
Mantle API Version 98304
AMD Catalyst Control Center Version 2014.1120.2123.38423
...

Monitors & their connection types won't matter (I have tested a number of variations, all working right. Though center was always tested with HDMI). I'm also pretty sure 6950 supports Fit/Fill.

2 last ideas:
- Try it with 1 graphics card, to eliminate your Crossfire setup from the list of potential causes.
- Someone on AMD forum may be able to answer better.

my drivers are the same as yours.

I received a 22" FullHD(1920*1080) Monitor (with another active DP) and tested it:

With 3 Monitors the same res (2x 24" + 22") Eyefinity works with no Problems.

So, I just might get me a 24" 1080p Monitor, so it works.
