Post subject:  Ati HD 5770 eyefinity 3rd monitor doesn't work

Hi People,

I have a eyefinity setup@home. I have 1x Samsung Syncmaster P2470H and 2x Samsung Syncmaster P2450H. I use 2x DVI and 1x active display port -> DVI only my graphic card doesn't detect my 3rd monitor. By the way i have my ati 5770 in crossfire so maybe that is the problem. I don't use HDMI and Active Display Port at the same time. Please help me out people!!!!!

Greetz,

Rinzy

:welcome

Are all displays connected to the primary (top) graphics card?

What make/model is the DP>DVI adaptor you are using?
Does the DP>DVI adaptor work when there is just 1 DVI monitor connected directly via DVI on the card so that you are connecting only 2 monitors?

Hi,

My Display Port Adapter -> DVI is this one: http://www.cdromland.nl/productinfo/731107/XFX/XFX_DisplayPort_to_Active_DVI_Dongle

when i connect my DP -> DVI on my upper videocard and i have a DVI cable connected at the same time, then it works fine with 2 screens. I connect all my screens to the primary graphics card. i don't use my monitors on my 2nd graphics card.

Can you please help me out???

So when using the adaptor alongside a direct dvi connection to display on 2 monitors it works, but when you plug in the 3rd dvi monitor, the adaptor stops working, correct?

This sounds like the DP>DVI adaptor is not working correctly as it appears to behaves like a passive adaptor.
Are you able to test with an alternative adaptor?
