Now have three Dell 3007s and two 6870s. Want to Crossfire the two cards and set up Eyefinity. Have been running three separate size monitors just for shits and giggles and to be able to do this and that. Primary gaming is WoW and these days Diablo III. A bit of Arkham. So three Dual DVI monitors and two cards that will soon act like one. What adapters do I need and what concerns will I have? |

Dual-Link What you need to know: For Crossfire to run you need to plug ALL monitors to the same GPU! The HD6870 has two DVI Ports! One SL-DVI and one DL-DVI! For your 2160*1600 resolution you DO need a Dual Link DVI! So you have to use 2 extra Active Adapters! Either two miniDP-DL-DVI Adapter or one of them and one HDMI-DL-DVI Adapter. Oh, and i truly hope you got the 2gb HD6870! 6480*1600 pixel is quite big! |

Do they even make an HDMI->DL-DVI? Anywya, yes, I use quite a lot of 3007wfp's and I run them using miniDP->DL-DVI adapter. They are active have to be powered using USB. A cool thing you can do is power the adapters using the the HUB on the monitor, then when ever you TURN OFF the monitors, it disconnects which helps with DP failures, which happen a lot with the apple branded ones. |

If I didn't Crossfire the cards will Eyefinity work across two cards? From what I have read I think the answer is no. Also I have been searching the forum for a triple monitor mount stand that will handle the three 3007s. I am unclear who makes one that will work. Suggestions? |

Also I have been searching the forum for a triple monitor mount stand that will handle the three 3007s. I am unclear who makes one that will work. Suggestions? I'm also interested in this. |

As far as I can research there is no desktop solution for triple 30" monitors. The South African company Aavara told me they have one in development about 2-3 months ago but I haven't chased them up about it since that time. |

It's ironic how much of multi monitoring is always a few months away. Lol But thanks for the info. |

So I plugged one Dell into the active adapter using a full to mini Display port adapter. Booted it up and nothing. No second monitor and of course no Eyefinity. Ideas? I wondered if the full Display Port to mini adapter I had to use was the problem.. |

| Post subject: | Two adapters and it all works |
Two adapters and it all works through the single 6870. Not sure about Warcraft. Can only get the single monitor resolution. Thought Warcraft would scale. Diablo III looks decent. I know it officially won't scale but then neither did WoW. Advice? Pretty thrilled it worked at all. |
