| Post subject: | Setup for eyefinity @120 hz |
Hi all guys i have a problem: i have a crossfire of 6990 + 6970 in eyefinity mode on three Acer GD245HQ. I connect the cross to the monitors with 3 mdp adapter to dvi dual link (passive) and i run all at 5760 x 1080 but i only reach 60 hz and not 120 hz. What i need to reach 120hz? Now i 've bought one of these: http://www.club-3d.com/index.php/products/reader.en/product/mini-displayport-to-active-dual-link-dvi-i-cable.828.html I need three adapters or only one it's enough coupled with the other two passive that i own? Wait for your reply guys |

Well a couple things wrong here. There's no such thing as a passive dual-link dvi adapter. So that's your first problem. The next thing is that, the only dual-link adapters that have been known to run 120Hz are the Apple One (Horrible Tech mind you) and the monoprice one (it requires a little more juice then the apple one). That cable may work (reading it's description), but make sure someone else has gotten it run at 120Hz. |

Well a couple things wrong here. There's no such thing as a passive dual-link dvi adapter. So that's your first problem. First of all thanks a lot for your reply! I try the club 3d adapters and yes, it works but using it standalone...if i connect all the three cables the refresh it's locked ( 2d 60hz - 3d 75hz maximum). At this point i think i need 3 active adapters (like the club 3d ones) and not only one...can you confirm it? I don't want to waste money ;) cheers |

Well you need atleast two if you're connecting to either card. 1 of the DVI on the 6970 is Dual-Link and the 6990's DVI port is dualink, though if you want to avoid tearing on one or two of your screens, I'd use 3 off the 6990. |
