| Post subject: | Setting up Eyefinity with 2 monitors of one res and one monitor of a different res |
Hi Everyone, I'm hoping the gurus here may be able to help me out. I just got myself a Radeon 7970 (ASUS DirectCUII 7970TOP) and have got it connected to my 2x Dell 2007WFP (20", 1680x1050) and my single Samsung SyncMaster F2380(23" 1920x1080). The Samsung is set up in the middle, as per the diagram in the AMD marketing for Eyefinity 2.0. My difficulty is I can't find where to configure the middle monitor to use its full 1920x1080 rather than 1680x1050 like the other monitors. I have installed Hydravision, but haven't yet rebooted (just finished re-installing Windows 7). Any direction or assistance is greatly appreciated. Thanks! |

When in eyefinity mode the middle screen will be 1680x1050 to match the outside 2. Set up your eyefinity up as normal and the set up your bezel comp. Then use WINDOWS KEY + p to get to the windows display settings. You can hit extended mode and the middle screen should be at 1920x1080 now. Hit windows key + p again and hit computer only and it should go back to eyefinity mode again. Make sure your middle monitor is attached to a display port or adapter connection. I use a 2560x1440 middle monitor with outside 1680x1050 monitors and I can go to 5040x1050 res in 5 secs and back to extended again. |

If you want to play games tripplewide with the middle display set to 1920x1080 id suggest disabling eyefinity group and using softTH. Since each display is connected to the same graphic card there shouldnt be any visible lag between displays and you wouldnt get any hihg performance hit. For now i think its only viable solution to play in multi monitors with mixed resolutions. |

| Post subject: | If your monitor has any good |
If your monitor has any good scaling at all going from 1920x1080 to 1680x1050 should not look to bad at all. When I use my u2711 at 2560x1440 it goes to 1680x1050 when in eyefinity and it looks pretty darn good. Then you can use dx11 and crossfire. Just try it. |

| Post subject: | Thanks everyone for your |
Thanks everyone for your input. My F2380 doesn't do scaling very well. It's got really good contrast, but other aspects are rather... not as nice. Things look pretty blurry when it is running at 1680x1050. I only found after a few days of digging that the new bezel compensation didn't really do what I thought it would. The ASUS HD 7970 is going back to the store though since it is defective and won't run the default clocks in Windows 7 and has to be undercloocked at 925 MHz to avoid crashing. We'll see how things go with the replacement. I'd like to try Eyefinity, so maybe I'll be looking into some better monitors to compliment it :) Thanks! |
