Post subject:  Eyefinity with different resolution monitors

Hi, friends.

I would like to know if its possible to play with eyefinity on monitors with resolutions.
I will get my hands on my 1080p 23" ips monitor this week and i already have two 1200x1024 17" monitors. I was planning on placing the 1080p one at the center, as you all have imagined, but i dont know if its even possible.

Post subject:  It's possible, the only

It's possible, the only downside is that when running in eyefinity mode (as of this post) you have to run the same resolution on each. So you'd be limited to 3840x1024 (3x1280x1024). It will stretch badly on the 23". But if you have a game that you can manually set the FOV, you can make the 3D scene look correct for the physical aspect ratio.

In the (near?) future there will be Eyefinity 2.0 and if i'm not wrong that will support Monitors with different resolution

THis is correct, AMD are soon to release the next set of drivers (v12.2) which will incorperate Eyefinity 2.0 allowing for different resolutions and bezels.

Am i going to need at least one display port? Probabliy my 23" monitor will come with a hdmi cable, and my two monitors have dvi cables. I can plug the tree of them in my videocard, but i dont know if eyefinity is going to be turned on.

If i am correct, "widescreen fixer" does that to everygame, am i right?

If i get 3 1080p monitors, am i going to be able to change individually the resolution of each monitor? To play with eyefinity and the 720p resolution on each monitor, so my hd5770 could handle it. I mean, 5760x1080 is one huge resolution.

Indeed you will need an active Displayport to DVI/HDMI adaptor to power the 3rd monitor.

You could indeed run them all at 720p... if they support that resolution, essentially you dont HAVE to run at the native res of the monitors for eyefinity to work, you can scale down the resolution no problem. :)
