| Post subject: | Help with vid card + monitor choice for eyefinity. |
My current setup is: Sapphire Dirt3 6950 unlocked and overclocked @ 925/1300 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102945 Asus VE248H x3 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236102 This was a spur of the moment impulse buy for me on black friday. I had been wanting to do eyefinity for a while but never really read too much into it which is probably appearent from my above choices. When I first received everything I put it together just to find out that I cant run eyefinity without a DP connection. So I bought a dp to dvi active adapter and for the most part everything it running fine, 20min 40avg 60max FPS running skyrim in ultra with 0xAA FXAA on but I'd like to be able to run BF3 in eyefinity. Now after reading about the screen tearing and whats causing it I'm thinking of returning the monitors while I still can and getting some with DP ports on them. My question is what panels(I'm assuming IPS) would be best for a landscape setup with only gaming in mind? I'm looking at the dell U2410 and U2412 and I dont know enough about monitors to see a difference other than price. Is there a difference in gaming between these two or are there better options for an eyefinity setup? I absolutely love the immersion with eyefinity and now want the best monitor I can get to make the immersion that much better. U2410 http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=320-8277&~ck=baynoteSearch&baynote_bnrank=2&baynote_irrank=0 u2412m http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=320-2676&~ck=baynoteSearch&baynote_bnrank=1&baynote_irrank=0 I'm planning on going with 2x7970s but so far the only one I've seen that will have 3+ DP ports is the sapphire 6G model. And I'm guessing the 7990 will have 3+DP ports. Do most people running eyefinity just not worry about having all native DP connections and am I just overthinking this too much? I was under the impresion the only way to eliminate screen tearing is to have monitors with DP and having a vid card with 3+ dp ports, is that wrong? I will say that I think my old 24" Dell TN panel I have looks better than the 3 I'm using for eyefinity so I'm not happy with the monitors regaurdless. Thanks for any help. I've learned a lot already from this forum and have been running Skyrim in 5760x1080 for the last month and dont think I will be able to go back to a single screen unless they make a single 5760x1080 or bigger screen. |

| Post subject: | U2412M are cheaper and have |
U2412M are cheaper and have less input lag than the U2410. They are also not wide gamut, so you don't get over saturated colours. I would get 3 of them, for gaming. |
