Something has been really bothering me. My config is like this, both my side monitors are connected to my card via display port to vga, those work fine. My middle one however, which is connected via a dvi->vga adapter has some really annoying tearing in everything. I noticed that when i take my rig out of eyefinty, turn of EDID on my troubled monitor and tell it to put the refresh rate to 60 (which is what it says its on and is recommended on my monitor) the problem stops. 60hz is also what I have my other monitors on. My problem is when I turn of EDID the eyefinty no longer works (ccc acknowledged this and says whats recommended next is to turn eyefinty off). HELP? Video of the tearing below.

thanks you pretty much answered my question since i have a 6870. I will remember to include my specs next time. Im just glad it wasn't something just wrong with me.

Listing specs like your hardware, driver versions, monitors, OS, etc. would be helpful.

However, if it's a 6xxx card you;re using, it seems that most everyone gets this. I sure do. First it crawled up my screen about once every 8 seconds. With the 11.7 drivers, it's now very slow, but still present. It only really bugged me in games, so i just keep vsync off.

Yes, it sucks. I really hope AMD fixes this shit, but knowing AMD/ATI and minor issues, it'll take many months to fix. :(

This issue was discussed on another forum where one of the main BETA testers for AMD drivers is a member. He states that this issue results from using different connections to the monitors. That is, having only one monitor connected via a DP adapter while the other two use something else, will cause the problem. He also states there is nothing that can be done other than using the same connection to all three screens....which cannot be done to support Eyefinity without using DisplayPort options for all three.

On my own setup, I have two connected via DVI and one using a DP->DVI active adapter. My primary display is one of the DVI connected screens. The tearing I get is on the DP connected screen.

I've asked...and, as yet have no answer...as to if a DisplayPort HUB would solve the problem. The one I've seen that may work costs close to $200 USD. Not a cheap fix by any means if it does work.
