Post subject:  Can you get 3d surround with Eyefinity?

I'm still not sold on 3D, but I've not ruled it out as a possibility yet either. I was thinking about going Nvidia for my new system to have both options available, but I see that 3d is enabled on the new AMD cards. Yet, I can't find a clear answer if it works together with the Eyefinity surround.

I'm sure 3d isn't popular here, but can someone at least confirm if it's possible?

If 3D wasn't popular here we wouldn't have a whole set of sub forums for it :P But your question has been discussed here: [#13987]

However the short answer is here:
Eyefinity and HD3D are not yet working through the Tri-Def middleware and AMD Catalyst driver. AMD is working on it. The 6970 will give four 2D outputs (with an active adapters) and the 6990 will give five 2D outputs natively.

They will both only drive a since 3D screen. And, CFX is not yet working in HD3D, so the 6990 causes problems. I haven't tested in a while, but I will ask if there are updates to the CFX issues.

Post subject:  You probably can with two DVI

You probably can with two DVI out using passive adapters but the active adapter for the third will probably give you sync issues. So, 2x1 plausible, 3x1 probably not plausible. Bear in mind that in order to definitively know, you're going to have to experiment.
