I just bought a XFX 6950 video card and 3 BenQ G2420 24" monitors. I'm running 1xDVI, 1x HDMI, and a XFX Active DP-> DVI adapter. I'm unable to duplicate or extend the three monitors, I can extend/duplicate 2 monitors but every time I go to extend/duplicate the 3rd monitor it tells me I have to disable one. When I go to the screen that gives you the monitor configurations to select from it only shows 2x1. All monitors are set to the same resolution and I'm using the latest Catalyst drivers 11.3, and running Win7 64 bit. Any ideas?

Simplest answer is that the adapter you're using is not an Active adapter. If you want to link me to the adapter I can make sure that I'm not mistaken. If you bought one of the AMD/ATI "Certified" adapters, that doesn't mean that it's active.

The adapter is a XFX Active MiniDP to Single-Link DVI apater: http://xfxforce.com/en-us/Products/Accessories/AccessoriesOverview.aspx I guess I made the assumption that if it's made by the company that made the video card and it says AMD Eyefinity Validated on it, it would work. I've ordered a Accell B087B-006B Active minDP>DVI adapter since and hopefully that will work.

Thanks for the advice

I have an XFX active mini-DP to DVI adapter, same as shown on your link. It worked fine for me for a few days (both with 3x1 Eyefinity and extended displays) but recently it's started playing up - every so often the monitor attached via the adapter will lose the signal and I have to pull the adapter out of the back of the PC and reattach it to get it all going again. Very annoying. The same setup with a different adapter (a sapphire active DP to DVI, connected via a mini-dp to dp adapter!) all works fine, so it's definitely the XFX adapter at fault.
