If they both run off the same driver version, it should work. Trouble comes when you want to run "legacy" hardware with newer stuff. |

Thank you for responding so fast. Just one more question, I have a 700w psu, will this be enough for both cards? |

I doubt it, I have one 5870 E6, and was thinking about getting a 2nd card, when looking up on the AMD web site, they recommended I get a 1200 Watt PSU, seemed a bit over kill, but you'd think they know what they are recommending... I doubt 700 Watt would work for you, you'll probably need 850, or 1000 Watt. |

I've got an HD6970 running at 1.3v wit 980mhz OC'ed. and a C2DE8400 @1.35V 4ghz. If i use Prime95 and Furmark i get 500Watt power consumption! When Playing Crysis it's 350 watt! The maximum consumption for a 5850 is 170Watt. So you might just make it with a 700W PSU, depending on your CPU. You could try it out, and buy a better PSU if it's now working perfect.... or are there any chances of damaging a GPU if it doenst get enough Power? |
