Very cool. Just wish it was two of em so we could see some four-way crossfire scaling. I guess we'll finally properly know if these things can do 5x1P and how the ports are set up. |

Dig the fluffy white socks :P The socks are tan, and not really that fluffy. Maybe I'll pick up some knee-high "ringer" socks from the 70's, for the next time my feet are in the shot. Very cool. Just wish it was two of em so we could see some four-way crossfire scaling. I guess we'll finally properly know if these things can do 5x1P and how the ports are set up. I'm working on that... |

The thing that worries me is that the 6990 has the fan in the middle of the card. My 5970 has the fan on the end. In my haf 932 case I have a 120mm fan on the bottom that feeds the 5970 fan cool air. I also have a 250gts for physx below the 5970 with about 1/2 inch of space between the cards. With the 5970 the fan is not blocked at all by the 250gts as the 5970 is so long. But the 6990 with the fan in the middle will be blocked by the 250, That WILL cause major problems. I am going to have to wait and see how far down the length of the 6990 the fan is. Major question for you all! Can I put the 250gts in the top pcie slot and my 5970 or 6990 (maybe) in the second slot? I use the 250 gts as a output for a 4th monitor to show teamspeak, monitoring apps etc. I am thinking that windows will assume that the 250 is the main card and put windows on the screen for the main monitor and then I have to go thru the hassle of switching them everytime. I guess I can try it with the 5970. Edit: I see the 6990 has the fan dead in the middle. The 250 would cover the whole fan. Has anybody with a amd main gpu and nvidia with physx as second ever put the nvidia card on the top? |

Also hope that you test the card FIRST in eyefinity res. I want to see the diff in eyefinity res games like metro, crysis etc. For example at the settings I play metro in at 5040x1050 I get 40-45 fps. I hope the 6990 would get 70 at the same settings. Looking forward to the reviews! :bowdown |
