If anyone feels like reading tonight.....

I built my Eyefinity rig in October and since then I have yet to get Bad Company 2 (normal or Vietnam) to play without crashing to desktop within 30 minutes or so. When the game crashes, it just cuts straight to the desktop with no error messages. There is no record of the crashes in the Windows 7 reliability monitor. If I switch to single monitor at 1920 x 1080 the game does not crash - I've played 10 hours straight before. System:

Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit
Asus M4A89TD
Corsair 850 watt PSU
HAF 932
CPUs tried: pII x4 955be, pII x6 1090Tbe
8 gigs G.Skill DDR3 tried at 1333 (what the mobo defaults it to) and at 1600 (the actual rated speed of the memory)
GPUs tried: Sapphire Toxic 5850 2gig, Sapphire 5870 eyefinity6 2gig, Sapphire 6870, Sapphire 6970 2 x 300 gig raptors in RAID 0
Original setup > 1 Samsung 2333SW monitor in center on bizlink DP to VGA adapter, and 2 x Asus VH242H monitors on the sides (on DVI)
Current setup > Dell U2311h monitor in center (on native DP) and 2 x Asus VH242H monitors on the sides (on DVI)
Resolutions tried (all 3 x 1 - L): 6048 x 1080, 5960 x 1080, 5940 x 1080, 5760 x 1080.

everything is stock.

As you can see, I've tried 2 different CPUs and 4 different GPUs yet I have experienced the crashes with all system configurations. As you can also see, I have not had 3 identical monitors at any point so I don't know if that has anything to do with it. When I first built the system I was afraid it was the adapter that was causing this which is why I bought the Dell U2311H for the native DP. Fortunately, I have already ordered 2 more U2311H dell monitors that should be arriving Tuesday or Wednesday of next week so at that point I'll have 3 identical monitors and be able to either solve my problem or at least rule out the monitors as the problem.

I've tried all 3 DX modes, I've reformatted my PC and tried fresh Steam and BC2 install, I've disabled steam overlay, various FOVs, various server sizes, i've tried every possible flavor of 3d settings in Catalyst and in game settings, I've tried the following Catalyst drivers: 10.8, 10.9, 10.10 and all hotfixes, 10.11 and all hotfixes, 10.12, 11.0, 11.2. (only tried 10.12+ on 6970 since no prior drivers support this card).

I also own the following games that have all had 0 problems when using Eyefinity: Aliens vs. Predator, Amnesia: The Dark Descent, The Ball, Dragon Age: Origins, Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion, GTA4, Just Cause 2, Killing Floor, Left 4 Dead 2, Magicka, Metro 2033, Risen, STALKER CoP and SOC, Batman Arkum Asylum, Counter-Strike: Source, Crysis, Darksiders, Dead Space, Neverwinter Nights 2, Torchlight. (I underlined every other title for easier reading)

As you all know several of the listed games don't officially support Eyefinity and so steps must be taken outside of the game to make the high resolutions work such as editing the game configuration files.

I've google'd, I've bing'd, I've yahoo'd, I've forum'd, I've found other people complaining about this (Nvidia Surround too) but no solutions.

Bad Company 2 is:
A) my favorite game out of the 140 titles that I own on Steam
B) the only game out of the 140 that I paid full retail price for (instead of waiting months after release for 50%+ steam sales)
C) found in more Eyefinity advertisements / marketing literature than any other game
D) the only game I own that doesn't work in Eyefinity
E) all of the above

I bought Vietnam despite this.

/cry

If BF3 does this I might have to do a real life "Epic Fail" if you get my drift.

Locking this as we already have a thread about this: http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=57&t=21391

Yes, Eyefinity/Surround cause CTDs in BFBC2. This issue is being addressed and should be fixed in the next patch.
