Hi Before I go out an splurge (MOAR) money on a new adapter (my old DP to VGA adapter which worked fine for 5870 doesn't work for the 69xx series) has anyone actually got EF working through a DP adapter to a VGA/DVI/HDMI monitor? Cheers |

I have eyefinity with an HIS 6970 working on 3 monitors (2 viewsonic vx2260 and an LG M227WDP-PC) - connected via a startech mini dp to dp adaptor into a sapphire active dp to SL DVI adaptor into the LG. Works fine :) |

Thanks evilmatt for the reply to the OP. I luckily figured out my current Sapphire DP-DVI (EF w/ 5850) is not going to work directly to a new 6950. Originally I was shopping for XFX again for the double lifetime warranty but once I realized I would have to buy another active adapter I started looking for other manufactors that offer it in the 6950 box. Looks like Powercolor offer the correct active adapter in the box and MSI & Sapphire both have a Mini DP to DP adapter included that sounds like will work with my current adapter. My concern was running two adapters together so I could reuse my current DP - DVI. Thanks for the reply since you got yours to work and I should be able to save a bit of money and get the MSI card instead of XFX. Will save me a good $50 between adapter cost and difference in the card price. Thanks!! |
