Post subject:  3x LCD HELP - 5770, 1x DP - Active DVI, 2x DVI. Not working.

Having a few issues trying to get this tripple monitor Eyefinity setup working.

2x NEC NW2200, 1x LG L225W (centre), Windows XP.

I've got myself a BizLink Active DP to DVI adapter, USB also plugged in, which is currently running the centre screen via DVI.
The other 2 screens on the left & right are running straight DVI.
The Catalyst Control Center, Basic or Advanced mode, will only allow 2 screens enabled at once..

I've tried basically all possible combinations without any success.

Monitor Input
1-DVI 2- DVI 3-DVI
5770 Output
1-DVI 2- HDMI 3-DVI
(Above has been tried in all 3 positions, obvious why it wouldnt work)

Monitor Input
1-DVI 2- DVI 3-DVI
5770 Output
1-DP 2- HDMI 3-DVI
(Above has been tried in all 3 positions)

Monitor Input
1-DVI 2- DVI 3-VGA
5770 Output
1-DP 2- HDMI 3-DVI
(Above has also been tried in all 3 positions)

Pretty much the only thing I havnt tried is 1 screen as DP-DVI to VGA.

Currently the way its setup is as follows -

Monitor Input
1-DVI 2- DVI 3-DVI
5770 Output
1-DVI 2- DP 3-DVI

Which from everything I've heard, read & watched, is pretty standard & is supposed to work. Especially with the BizLink Active adapter.
So whats going on?.. Someone please point me in the right direction, this is driving me crazy..

Officially:
What Operating Systems does AMD Eyefinity technology work with?

At present Windows® Vista and Windows® 7 support AMD Eyefinity technology. There are plans for Linux support in an upcoming update to AMD Catalyst™ software. There is no support for Windows® XP.

I don't know if there is workarounds getting extended setups.

Otherwise, this video is useful:

I've been down this road on a 5770 and am traveling it again on a 6870.

These "active" adapters are a PITA, frankly.

I would suggest connecting the DP connected monitor to be the right-most monitor. This way you don't lose access to your Windows Desktop when it doesn't work...OR when the screen goes black when it works briefly.

Then, I'd invest in a Monster-brand DP -> VGA adapter and forget, for the time being, anyway, trying to get DVI to work with the DisplayPort. As long as you're running the screens at native resolution you'll be hard-pressed to notice any significant difference in image quality. This is assuming your monitor has a D-Sub/VGA input.

Good luck!

I was thinking that the Eyefinity community was kind of giving up on those Active Adapters with USB power cables, as well as the DP -> VGA connectors, and simply heading for the cheap little adapter made specifically for this 60hz 3-DVI screen situation?

Turns out the issue was with XP. I missed the fineprint that stated that it supports Vista / 7.
Then I found out a few people have said it doesn't work with XP, & found pages & pages of people trying to use work-around methods & driver alterations ect.

So instead, I installed 7 Ultimate- dualboot with XP, installed CCC in 7 & they all lit up instantly, with my current setup (as per my original post). 7 Ultimate can run XP mode anyway.

When booting back into XP, only the left & center screens work.

Just quickly - Does anyone know of a simple fix for this prob with XP, just out of curiosity?
