I've now read through quite a few post on profiles on this board, and done quite a bit of Googling. It seems like I'm just missing the boat on this one. Here is my problem:

I use the 3x1 eyefinity setup for gaming, but prefer an extended desktop the remainder of the time, with the middle monitor having the start menu, etc. I am using UltraMon for this setup right now (extended), it is great.

I have set up profiles in the ATI CCC (10.12) and I cannot switch between them with the hotkeys, or even in the actual CCC. When I switch to the extended profile, it tells me that I have to disable the 3x1 group, and that it cannot be undone. Once the group is destroyed, I can't switch to it anymore.

I've tried various methods mentioned in posts I've found involving the order of the profile creation or hitting the hotkey twice to get the switch to work, but I'm beginning to wonder if this is just a bug.

----
Since posting this I found a post from a year ago basically saying it doesn't work. I hope that is not still the case. Apologize if anyone considers this cross-posting.

The issue I've had with loading profiles is that I've almost always had to load them twice to get it to work properly, but I was never told that i had to disable a group first. HAve you tried a different driverset version?

Other than that, I guess you'll have to manually disable the Eyefinity group before doing anything else.

So can go hotkey or profile load from Extended to Eyefinity profiles without a problem?

I can't shift between profiles at all, whether hotkey or in the CCC. I have to disable the group, then add the extended monitors to get extended to work, then I have to disable the extended monitors to create a group afterwards.

Thankfully, the bezel compensation doesn't work on my 3 2494 LCDs, otherwise I'd have to re-setup that every time too, I imagine :).

I haven't tried a different driver set yet, but I guess it can't hurt.

Ok, I uninstalled 10.12 and installed 10.11. Upon doing so I noticed that my profiles were still there that I had made (eyefinity and extended). I was using the extended w/ Ultramon at the time. I clicked on the eyefinity, and watched the display group momentarily appear then disappear. At this point I thought it was a wash.

I clicked on the arrow and chose "enable group" and of course it warned me it could not be undone or whatever. I said OK, then went back to the profiles and chose extended. It worked. Then I chose eyefinity. It worked as well. Now I can switch back and forth with a single hotkey stroke no problem, although I haven't restarted yet.

It also seems like my flickering I had been getting since 'upgrading' to 10.12 is gone too. I never had the issue until Steam told me to update to the latest, but it has been pretty constant in 2D apps ever since then (like 20-30 flickers a day, not a huge deal).

I have half a mind to uninstall 10.11 and reinstall 10.12, to see if I just had a corrupt installation, but I don't think I'm going to chance it at this point :).

Thanks for the help
