I received this video from a forum member who thought we might want to share it. It shows Reuven Soraya from AMD demoing HAWX on the upcoming Radeon "Cedar" (5350) card. "Cedar" is ATI's upcoming "mainstream" entry that is launching after the first of the year. The demo is running on three 24" panels. |

Nice. Any idea how much this is supposed to cost? I'm thinking about upgrading my work PC to an eyefinity setup (I love it that much), and since I won't need to play games the existing cards are slightly overkill. |

Since it's meant to replace the 4550, a price between 65 and 75$ should be expected.
Hrm, I guess with not so many billion transistors with the 57xx and up, they can make a 3-output card without having to resort to DP. |

3x 24" on a 5350? First question I have to ask is why? You can afford a 5850 if you can afford 3x 24". they can make a 3-output card without having to resort to DP. 2 legacy port clocks only and 1 DP clock, unless they've totally changed the 5000-series archetecture. There is still a DP port in all 3 display 5000-series setups. If that isn't the case, AMD/ATI has been lieing to us about the 58XX and 57XX series archetecture capabilities. I bet they're using the $30 DP-to-VGA analog active converter. |

Well first of all, alot of people cant afford 3x24"rs, i think they were trying to show the power of the card, if you can get eyefinity even cheaper and get it two people still using 19"rs (I was one of those just untill I upgraded a few months ago) then why not? they can make a 3-output card without having to resort to DP. Well since they can use an adapter, don't you think they can add it to the board? |

I'm not trying to bullcrap you, I'm only quoting and posting what I see. I guess the 30$ adapter really only costs 15 cents. I think DP is a selling point (for HP to hawk more gear), why would they not say "Ports: HDMI, DVI, and Displayport" Well see on the 7th how they pull this magical card out of their hat. |

Something tells me the board used in the video is NOT the same one detailed in the slide. There will probably be several connector options for this upcoming "Cedar" product. Not all of them will support 3 heads simultaneously. |

Sounds like a great card to put into my HTPC so I can play non-EF games at 1080p from my sofa. |
