hi everyone, just got my 5970 in today and i noticed it said PCI-E 2.1 on the box.. anyone know about this?? is there a new standard i dont know about??

All the HD 5000 series are PCIe 2.1. The 2.1 spec adds some of the control functions from the PCIe 3.0 spec (though doesn't add the additional bandwidth).

Be honest you just wanted to rub in you got a 5970 :D

Let us know how well it works, I heard that only some games support the internal crossfire, and if thats the case it would suck if you find a demanding game that needs both internal die's as just half that card is slower than a 5870.

I hope they do a 2GB refresh of the 5970 thats what I am looking for (4gb total).

Doubt there will be a 4gb of this card only thing I have heard about it was a rumor. Guess ill just grab this 5970 since it's like my old 9800 GX2 with 2 gpu's :) but without shared mem.
