so based from anandtechs review saying u cant use both dvi's and hdmi for eyefinity, at least 1 displayport must be used (correct me if im wrong!!!) does anybody know if this displayport to dvi adapter will work? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815158138&cm_re=displayport_to_dvi-_-15-158-138-_-Product - this one is a DVI-I or this one? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812120613&cm_re=displayport_to_dvi-_-12-120-613-_-Product i sorta confused myself hmm dont know which one i need |

We're currently trying to clear this up in another thread where a member has a 5870 but can't get the three screens to play nicely. Basically we need ATi to actually tell us what's necessary, because this is ridiculous. |

yeah dazboots 5870... i just ordered my 3x samsungs now im kinda skeptical, this sucks because i have mine coming this friday the 28th.. |

yeah dazboots 5870... i just ordered my 3x samsungs now im kinda skeptical, this sucks because i have mine coming this friday the 28th.. i really dont know what to do now ill have to just sit back and hope some 1 knows. these monitors run great on my triple head now get this and nothing. |

samsung 24" 2443BWT the ones where u can rotate to view as portrait.. i hope these work dazboots - i posted a reply on "Displayport-compatible screens needed for Eyefinity?" thread |

I´d also be interested to know what (if any) converters to VGA from Displayport that might work with Eyefinity. For example this chip looks to me like a "active" converter: http://www.standardics.nxp.com/literature/leaflets/interface/pdf/ptn3392.displayport.vga.adapter.pdf The line that says "While connected and powered from the DisplayPort connector, PTN3392 always reports an active HIGH Hot Plug Detect (HPD) signal to the source." would indicate at least to me that it is in fact "active" and communicating back to the Displayport on the graphics card? Here´s another similar chip with some more technical info on it: http://www.datasheetpro.com/node/194811 Would also like to add that I´m a little disappointed in the information of all this coming from ATI. Apart from the small print "Displayport needed" there has been little official info regarding support for Eyefinity. You shouldn´t have to dig through forums yourself to find out that some "active" DP > DVI converters actually work as well for example and that you do not in fact have to own a DP capable screen. ATI should have made it VERY clear from the start what does and what does not work in terms of adapters/converters, with all possible solutions listed. |
