I'll have to get the card but wont order the first one I see I'll sit back and wait till a sale/deal pops up or I find one brand to release a better one than the rest.

How much are the monitors setting you back? I still have to find a monitor I like and decide if I want large/small wide/standard. With my limited desk space 3x15" standard 4:3 is probably the best bet for me but then I will hate when I get stuck with a game or movie using just 1 screen.

yeah kinda skeptical tho, i just read the guru3d review with 5870, its equivalent to 4870X2 which isnt bad but we'll see..

ViciousXUSMC - man lol altogether its about $1200, my goal is to run them all portrait so itd be 3600 x 1200

Just a heads up the key to saving some $$$ here is going to be bing cashback, if you can find a card in stock in a store with say 8% cashback, when your looking at a $400 card thats a good $32 saved.

newegg only has like 2% but still thats a few $$$ to save.

I miss the 30% ebay cashback days I wish I had taken more advantage of it when it was around.

I really did want to go for one of these cards soon, but considering I need a new desk, monitors, and the new card that wont really give me much boost in performance I will sit back for awhile and see what happens.

Maybe wait until the 5870X2 is out, but for now they say that the eyefinity doesnt work with crossfire, so lets hope that the x2 card fixes that or they find a way by then, as I know for those like yourself wanting to go 3x 24" we will need the power of crossfire to game with that insane resolution.

[H] said that a 6 connection D-Port card was due out in the next two months. Might as well wait.

Yes, but only with SoftTH. This will also work with EyeFinity. 3600x1920 is a lot like a single regular aspect ratio display, so you lose the surround aspect in this setup. It's still multi-display but no longer surround-screen aspect ratio.

just to be clear,so with Eyefinity you'll see extra vert while gaming(in portrait mode)understanding that you'll lose some horizontal from typical surround gaming.

thanks again :)
