Maybe you can activate it but it does nothing, placebo...

It would have been nice if he benchmarked the single 5870 against 2 of them.

Yes, thats true.

Yeah, sounded too good to be true.
He should've really compared one card to two cards, that way we would've known whether or not CF is supported. I'll say it's not.
Arrgh!

Well, we dont know, not until someone from the community can tell us, all we are saying is "guess work".

Based on his review, it seems that it works with Crossfire, but sounds too good to be true.

Well, IIRC, the WSGF has run afoul of Guru3D in the past with them taking programs our members have made and passing them off as their own without permission from said members. However, I am inclined toward taking this review seriously, as aside from their ill-considered borrowing of fixer tools they've been a good site that is generally accurate and cover their reviews in detail.

It is possible, however unlikely, that they have a driver capable of CF+EF... but I think it's more probable that they've got two cards in there, but only one of them is working.

Also... 45fps in DMC4? Definitely sounds like only one card is working.

lol maybe thats why i posted a link for WSGF, as one of the best sources for widescreen / surround gaming solutions, and it was quickly edited  :

I fail to see how WSGF competes with Guru3D at all. It's like comparing apples to oranges. They have vastly different focus. I mention WSGF openly and funnel people here all the time from the EVGA forums.

On a second thought, I hope that's not CF.
I mean, considering the image size, the results are neat.
But if that is already running two 5870?
After all, details weren't maxed, AA etc were disabled.
It'd be nice to know that there is still room for improvement, without quadfiring two 5870x2.

Quite. I don't understand either, Brad. Nevertheless, they feel we compete with them.

There are a couple of other sites that have... "borrowed" res patchers from us in the past without referring back to the WSGF or the fix creator, although for use in reviewing games...

And funnelling people here from the EVGA forums is one thing; EVGA are a hardware company, not a company trying to make bucks out of hardware reviews, page hits and ad revenue. ;)

Just posting to say the Guru3D review states they used RC6 drivers. Whether Crossfire is enabled or not in those, I do not know.

So those would be Catalyst 9.10 beta, IIRC...
