Post subject:  The Shield Game

The game is from 2007 and it should support widescreen but it's not. In the options are available only 4:3 resolutions.
It is interesting that 16:9 can be selected in the options but the result is as below on the screenshot. It would be great if it could be improved.

This is option 16:9 in the menu.

Very odd that a game would have an option for 16:9 aspect ratio but not 16:9 resolutions..

There's a config.ini in Documents/Aspyr/The Shield that contains these following lines:
#### , SCREEN_WIDTH
#### , SCREEN_HEIGHT
Changing them to a non-4:3 resolution just launches it at 640x480. "FULLSCREEN" doesn't do anything either.
I can't find any resolutions (http://www.wsgf.org/article/common-hex-values) in Shield.exe so they're not hardcoded.
There doesn't seem to be any launch parameters either.

I did manage to force the resolution with Cheat Engine. However, the menus are cut off and the 3D+FMVs are biased to the left of the screen still at 4:3.
I think a proper hex edit/hack could be made from my cheat table but that's beyond my capability so I'll attach it for anyone who wants to.

I added this game to the database. Maybe in the future can be possible get widescreen resolutions
