Post subject:  FIX: Battlefield 3 Launching into Blank Screens / No Menu (Eyefinity BF3)

Hi

Some people have been experiencing issues with BF3 (with Eyefinity correctly enabled in CCC) where the game will launch into 3 blank screens (possibly displaying only the flashing saving icon) and/or will then display the background graphics to the menu screen, but not the actual menu.

For some reason this happens because the game still thinks it is being run on 1 monitor (and hasn't automatically adjusted to the correct resolution) and will display the single monitor resolution, even though you have correctly enabled it on CCC. This is a game bug not an ATI problem.

The resolution needs to be adjusted in the Options, but as you cannot view the Options it cannot be changed! Catch 22!

So the only fix is to manually edit the config file in game settings, this is quite easy.

1. Head to C:/User/*Your Account*/My Documents/Battlefield 3/settings/PROF_SAVE_profile

2. Open this one in Word.

3. On the 28th Line Down, "GstRender.ResolutionWidth ", edit the value to your desired resolution (ie 5760).

4. Save the file, and re-launch the game.

When i first played Bf3 on eyefinity, it launched with no problems, but now I have to do the above fix to get it to work. I"m not sure why, and It seems to only be affecting certain systems.

Enjoy.

Post subject:  I had this problem before

I had this problem before with a russian version of the game on Origin. I had downloaded the english language pack everything was fine. Sadly, when Origin updates the game it breaks the link to the english files. Simply downloading the latest english language pack and patch fixes this though.
