Post subject:  Sims 2 Widescreen Problems

I currently have Sims 2 (all packs and expansions) on my computer.

Processor: AMD Athlon II X4 620
Video Card: GeForce 9100
6.00GB (5.75 usable) RAM
Widescreen 21.5 monitor (1920 x 1080)

I have found the solutions for 1920 x 1080 monitors on this site. However, whenever I try to change the coding on the Graphics Rules.sgr I get the message 'access denied'. I have tried to remove the graphics rules, change them elsewhere and transport them back. When I did this the game reverted the Graphics Rules file back to its original state. I am the administrator of the computer I use and the access denial allowed me no option to enable an administrator to change the file. Is there a way to stop this problem, or perhaps an alternate solution I could use. If anyone could help me out with this I will be supremly grateful.

That's odd. "Access denied" sounds like you were trying to mod the file while it was in use :?
Did you try setting the file as Read-only after modding it ?

Thanks for replying. I checked out your suggestion and set the file as read-only after moding it (using the remove-to-other-folder-and-returning-it method). After starting the game again it took a little longer to load, but the problem was the same. I checked the files after closing the game and found they had once-again reverted back to their original state.

Durring this trial run I modded the files associated with the last stuff pack and the last expansion bundle (having 2 eps and 2 stuff packs) I had installed. I had read that the mods didnt take effect until the most recent stuff packs had been altered.

This is so frustrating! What am I doing wrong?

Once again, any helpful imput is welcome and apreciated!
