Hey guys. :)

Baically ive just bough empire earth 2 & the expantion pack. Installed it only to find it dont support my monitors native 1920x1200 res!

Now ive downloaded both the "uniws" & "patches" and ran uniws, Selected Empire earth 2 from the "game" list and clicked "find it for me" ... It finds the game fine & i click patch.

But it still seems to run in 1600x1200 res. Colud somebody please help me out and say where i could be going wrong plese?

First things first...
Could you please fix your sig to comply with the rules:

Secondly...
UniWS works great here with the SP demo of Empire Earth 2. Keep in mind you must first set the resolution to 1280x960 (not 1600x1200) :!:
So try this:
-'Undo patch' in UniWS
-Launch EE2
-Select 1280x960, 32 bits from the Settings menu
-Exit and re-do the patch for 1920x1200.

Finally...
You can also mod the camera and enjoy Hor+ gameplay 8)
Simply add these lines to C:Program FilesSierraEmpire Earth IImyconfig.cfg:
Code:
MAINCAM:
   MINFOV 35.65
   MAXFOV 69.43


4:3, default


16:10 (UniWS) = Vert-


16:10 (UniWS) + modded fov = Hor+


And the same method works like a charm for 16:9 and multi-monitor resolutions, too ! I'll post a detailed update to the Confirmed Solution... later.

I've updated the Confirmed Solution, let me know if there's sth unclear.

Further details:
You can mod a number of other camera settings to your liking, see config.cfg for a list of all variables and their default value.

As you may or may not have noticed, this is not a pixel-perfect Hor+ solution as far as the main game window is concerned: it is "vastly Hor+/slightly Vert-" although it's hard to notice in non-surround resolutions. The PIP camera (bottom right) on the other hand is strictly Hor+.

Why is that ?
It seems the default FOV values apply to the PIP camera, which in turn affects the main camera's behavior. However the PIP's frame is a square (i.e it's 1:1 at 4:3 resolutions) that stretches in wider aspect ratios. It's never as wide as the main game window, so the correct FOV values for MAINCAM should be a tad higher than those for PIPCAM.

Resolution AR // PIP AR
1.33:1 // 1:1
4.8:1 // 3.7:1
1.77:1 // 1.38:1

Someone keen on math could easily calculate the right FOV values for the main cam, so that it is as strictly Hor+ as the PIP cam. Seeing how easy it is to mod the FOV to any value, and how satisfyingly Hor+ the game is even in Wide TripleHead, I hereby confess that I won't bother.

Ok i don as you said an un-patched the game, Started the game and set the ingame res to 1280x960 32bits.

Closed the game down and re-patched, Still didnt work! .... The game ran at 1280x960!

Does the patcher support the "The Art of Supremacy" expantion pack?

Then rename this one to EE2.exe and try to patch it... That's all I had to do with the demo: renaming EE2SPdemo.exe to EE2.exe did the trick.

Post subject:  Empire Earth 2 Widescreen problem
Hey Guys,
I got Empire Earth 2 today and am really excited to play it, but once installed i was very dissapointed to see that the resolution was poor.
I downloaded UniWS and ran it, selected EE2.exe, put in the desired rsolution, but when i click Patch, i get an error message that says i need to close all other programs, but there are no other programs running :(
Can anyone please help, Thanks!
