There is a confirmed solution for DS1 in here:
http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/node/

I wanted to point out an alternate solution to it but only moderators may post in that forum.

So here goes:
Go to My DocumentsDungeon Siege or My DocumentsDungeon Siege LOA
In there you will find a file called dungeon siege.ini
Edit that file, in there you fill find a "hight" and width" value. I tested it with 1920x1200 and it works great. When you start the game you have to click through a warning that your resolution has not been tested and might behave erratically...

If you go to the in game options menu it will actually show "1920x1200x32" for your resolution, make sure to don't save change it by accident.

Oh, and if you use vista 64bit the DRM is incompatible with vista64bit so you have to remove it first (if your country allows that, otherwise just install winXP as a dual boot)
