I didn't mess around with any configuration files or registry settings, so I don't know if there is a manual fix to correct this.

2560x1600 successfully tested (vert-).

The game requires some hefty specs. It was playable at 1920x1200 with low detail on my system (2.4Ghz, 2GB, 7950GT).

I found it amusing, mostly because I tried the sacred 1 demo right before.

Not only did they fail to make a better game (the graphics are barely a notch above) but they also made an enjoyable one into a tedious battle against a poorly designed camera.

It ran great on my rig at 1920x1080 but that's mostly because no matter what in-game or nvidia panel settings I put, fsaa remains off.

Hint to those that try the demo, the timer that starts in the final part can be bypassed by save & exit then coming back to an unlocked gate. Though that's not really worth much, the path is blocked off and the enemies are few.

Oh and I forgot to mention they have a nasty use of fonts that leads the game to have no text whatsoever if you try and install somewhere other than program files. Even after installing the fonts manually the interface was blank.

I might pick up sacred 1 if I can find it, I'll definitely not buy sacred 2.

Yeah it is, even requires a reboot to clear the fonts of use so you can delete them after the game's uninstall fails to do so, both sacred1 and 2 are like that.

I applaud their use of built-in windows fonts rather then bitmaps or the likes. But they fail in how they use it.

I don't and never will install my things in program files.

In fact I'm in the process of settings things so whatever I install isn't even on the same rig as it's used thanks to symbolic links.

The reason behind that is that serial ata drives are unbelievably fragile. I have to be way too careful around em whenever I need to make any other change inside the case. That's why I've decided to built network storage that I can basically set and forget.

It's quite unfortunate that ide drives have halted at 500gb.

I didn't install the game in Program Files and I didn't experience any strange anomalies in the game. I have a 'Games' folder for all of my games. Also, there's a setting in Options to set the camera to 'free' mode. I found this to be much better than the default setting.

The game isn't terrible. It has some flaws but the demo kept my interest far more than Space Siege. Sacred 2 is what one would expect from that genre. It's just like Dungeon Siege, Loki, Silverfall, and the rest.

I couldn't install it somewhere else at all. Says I didn't have permission to put it in the games folder where I've installed every other game or demo I have.

I had to install it to program files then copy it over and manually reinstall the 2 fonts and it still didn't use them.

It fails on 2 points, using fonts that it won't uninstall and the inability to install where everything else does.

Sigh, at least it didn't crash I guess.

I would have bought silverfall, loki and quite a few others but they are nowhere to be found.

When I say 'get' I mean buying a box of a game I now own that even decades from now when the companies servers are dust I can still install from a physical medium and play at my convenience on any pc I own.

Steam is no better than the thousands of viruses on the net as we speak.
