Hey folks,

I've been struggling with a problem for the past month. I recently purchased a widscreen LCD 19'' Acer X192W whose resolution is 1440x900 and I'm facing an annoying problem, I hope someone is familiar such an issue.

What happens with many of the games I am playing such as The Witcher, Crysis, Guitar Hero III, Company of Heroes; pretty much most of the games, once I switch the in-game resolution to 1440x900, the screen get adjusted, the image is deviated horizontally to the right i.e. the left border of the screen in a black band, and I can't see a part of the right side of the image.

in The Witcher, what I did is change the resolution then ask it to revert back to 1440x900 and it actually solves it for the time I'm playing.
As for the other games that doesn't seem to work.

My desktop resolution is 1440x900 and it works fine.

I'm currenly using BFGTech's nVidia 8800 GTS 320MB updated with the latest drivers; on Windows Vista Ultimate x64.

Hope you can help.
Regards

If it's anyting like the many Acer monitors I've used, it'll have an "Auto-Adjust" function using the monitors' buttons. Use this once a game is running and it should fit the game display to the display. (and perhaps do some color correction, too)

If it works in one game okay then it should work for the rest on it's own.

Oh, and make sure you're in an active game, not in a menu.

If THAT doesn't work, then... umm.. hm.

What happens when you try another 16:10 resolution, such as 1280×800 ??

I've tried the Auto Adjust feature previously, but it didn't work. Turns out you were right I had to do it in the active game not in the menu.
So thanks for the tip !

It's a bummer that I have to do it every time, and I still can't confirm that it works with every game.

If anyone has a more permanent solution to the matter it would be appreciated.

Thanks !

Every time? How odd. I only have to do it the first time i use a given resolution/color depth...

Maybe the monitor's just a lemon. Are you able to swap it for another?

(if not - buy another, swap them, and get a refund)
