I just put together a new system. I have a Samsung 226BW hooked digitally to a Geforce 8800 GTS. I downloaded the latest drivers. However, in the Nvidia Control panel, under Change flat panel scaling, no matter what I select, when I exit out, and re-enter the control panel it reverts back to "Use NVIDIA scaling". I can change resolutions, but I can't seem to make "Do not scale" stick.

Any thoughts?

Your hitting "apply" then "ok" right?

That would be my first thought.

Other than that, I use older drivers so mine defaulted to being set this way but there is a box in there somwhere that says "treat monitor as hdtv" seems alot of people have that checked, uncheck it and see if that fixes the issue.

Welcome to hell.

8800gts + new drivers = BAD.

Go back to the 96.xx drivers, it helps with scaling (still tons of other problems though...)

I emailed NVIDIA regarding the flat panel scaling feature not working. The following is there response:

Thank you for contacting us here at NVIDIA Customer Care.

We understand from your email that you are unable to use the flat panel scaling feature vide the GeForce 8800GTS card. In this regard, we would like to make the following suggestions.

As of date, the latest drivers are unable to support the scaling feature. However, we understand that NVIDIA's graphics driver development team is working on version of driver that will include the feature.

We would also request you to register with NVIDIA by visiting our web page at http://lyris01.nvidia.com/NvRegister/frmLoginRegister.asp to receive notifications on driver updates.

If you have any further questions or concerns as well, please feel free to email us.
