i have been pondering getting a widescreen monitor,
i currently have a regular 17" lcd screen,

however after looking at this site all weekend on the night shift i was wondering about getting either another 17inch and running it next to the current, or getting 2 more and running them in surround

i cant decide now,
i'd like everyones opinion as to wether it would be better to get one widescreen monitor or have 2 regular ones running in tandem,

i use my pc mainly for gaming and also i'd be wanting to run my xbox 360 through it/them
gpu wise i have a ati radeon x1650

cheers

Paul

Hey ... welcome to the WSGF ... 8)

I would just go widescreen if I were you .. the x1650 ... isn't the best for Surround using the TH2G.
The resolutions available to you will be limited to a max of 2400x600 and it would probably struggle with many of the newer games at 3840x1024 if it could do that res.

As for going dual screen .... it's not best for gaming as you will have the join of the two screens up the middle obscuring your view.

A widescreen would also be better for your 360 assuming you get one that can do the resolutions a 360 can do.

thanks,
i just thought now, when you mentioned it about the dual screen, it would have the "join" of the 2 screen right down the middle, i hadn't thought about that before,

i think its back to the reviews to pick out a widescreen monitor,
what res does the xbox cater for?

every heard of a fujitsu siemens L22-W-2DV 22" they have it at pc world for £250

For the 360 ...

1080i which is 1920 X 1080 pixels.
720p which is 1280 X 720 pixels.

but check this out too ... it explains a lot ...
