so I just got this monitor. 22" wide screen and it's setup for 1680x1050. I've updated my drivers and everything. I changed the in-game resolution but it looks like crap. Everything is huge and I don't know what to do about it. What am I doing wrong?

I guess what I'm saying is that the Field of View is way too close. Does anybody know what to do about this?

I know what you're talking about, almost like if you could pull the screen back a little bit further it would be great?

I'm yet to find anything to do this...

I did find this mod. It lets you pull back the camera but when you do a haze gets very thick. it's playable but somewhat annoying.

Yeah, the camera mod is useful, but limited because of the way the game handles the fog to stop terrain draw from making it a stutter-fest.

The Camera Mod and a couple of notches out of 'default' is about the best that can be done.

So why is everybody so happy about this game being widescreen supported when you can only see a little bit? I don't get it.

Um... have you not tried it on a 4:3 screen? It has exactly the same problem on 4:3. So widescreen support has nothing to do with it. The only thing we're happy about with respect to widescreen support is that they decided to 'unbreak' it in Dark Crusade. Pity they couldn't do the same in DoW/WA. Anyway.

Yeah, the situation isn't helped by playing in widescreen, as DoW games chop the top and bottom off. However, it's not a widescreen problem - it's the devs deciding to heavy fog everything so as not to kill the framerate on lower-spec systems.

That makes sense. Thanks for clearing that up. I'm constantly mixing up widescreen issues with field of view issues.
