First off, hello all, good to be a part of your forums and be fortunate enough to have a 24" widescreen monitor :) I searched all pages of the "fixed" widescreen solutions post but did not find this game. I also can't find any information regarding this topic through google searches or other forums. I'm aware that its very old and there may not be a solution for it but I'm curious if there is a way to fix it. Carmageddon 2 is one of my all time favorite games and I've just gotten around to installing it again. I've installed it and played it and it stretches to fit my screen fine. 4-8xAA and it looks pretty smooth and runs trouble free. I'd like to do 2 things with it. Display 1920x1200 without stretching and also, Increase the draw distance to max. It doesn't detect my video card properly (7800gtx) but still runs without issues. I'm not using ANY compatablility modes or other compatability options (e.g. disable text services, etc.) I've looked in the games directories and can't find any usable files to alter these settings. I've also checked the registry under HKEY_CURRENT_USER and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE does have and Interplay/Carmageddon 2 Carpocalypse Now/1.00.000 directory tree however there are no entries in any of them aside from the (Default) REG_SZ (Value not set). Is there a way to pull this off or is it all in vain? Thankyou to anyone who replies with helpful information. |

EDIT: Just read the specs on the 1990SXI (trying to confirm its a 6.9mm bezel), it appears the quoted Response time of 18ms is a full colour time, the Grey to Grey time is 9ms. Afaik consumer monitors like the Dell range only quote G2G times, so that would explain the lack of ghosting on the Pro ranges. |

Sounds about right. The G2G on my three Eizo S1931 screens is 8ms. |

Friggin' thin bezels indeed  I'd love to see how 3840x1024 looks with three of those. Super-thin bezels surely keep the "need" for triple widescreen at bay... for a price though :/ |

it's like $800 for a 19" monitor?! heck I got 3x 24" LCD for $837 after tax. but of course my bezel is not super thin. |

NEC will never see another dime from me. We had two of them and one went bad within its warranty period. They could not fix it. Instead they sent us another one with same specs but different in bezel color. After questioning NEC on the exchange we decided to hook it up. Opened the box it was filthy and used, probably a reman. Once we hooked it up we found it didnt work. What a joke. We ended up getting things right with our retailer. NEC customer service is lacking and will not be supported by my money in the future. Just my two cents. |
