Hello there,

On this page about how to make the original Quake2(without any engine changes) run widescreen:
http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/wiki/index.php?title=QuakeII_.exe_with_Widescreen_Support

The link for the widescreen quake 2 exe doesn't work, I assume it wasn't too popular in the past few years so it was removed from the server....

However if someone would be so kind and put it up again, that would make me really happy ; )

Thanks

Sorry. The file got moved with the recent server move, and I forgot to update the DL URL on this page. I fixed it earlier this evening.

Personally, I recommend using aprq2 instead of the exe hosted on WSGF. The exe hosted here has a bug in it that causes your gun to disappear if you try to increase the FOV, and you will want to increase the FOV if playing in widescreen. Aprq2 has a workaround for this bug. You can read about it here:

Does anyone know what version of Quake II & Expansions comes with the Quake 4 Special Edition?

I was trying to get widescreen but I do not know what version I am working with. :(

Thanks.

It's probably the most up-to-date one.. which I think was 3.20 or something?

Thanks. The tweaked exe worked. :D
