I know Freespace 1 tops out at 640x480 and Freespace 2 at 1024x768, but are there any hacks to get them running at a widescreen resolution, preferably 1680x1050? And what about the somewhat goofy and very fun racer 1nsane? Does it have widescreen support? |

FreeSpace 1&2 - not a chance. I spent a while with FS2, seeing if I could get widescreen working. Nothing. :( 1nsane I'm not sure about - I'll have to install it again and have a poke around. It was a pretty fun game, that, considering I got it free with Operation Flashpoint years ago... :) |

You know, regarding Freespace 2... you might want to ask over here if they could code widescreen support into the game... the source code has been released, after all. ;) There's already a thread about it here; if you supply the coders with enough information on how it should work, they should be able to get widescreen working without too much of a problem. |
